I just got a call from them.  A young lady called and asked if she was speaking to me.  I said yes, she said hold on I have a very important call for you and headed over the phone (or transferred the call, not sure). A guy got on the phone and said am I speaking with LaTonia.  I said who is this? and he said again am I speaking with LaTonia, again I said who is this? He got tart and said "just hang up the phone!" So I did.  Not sure what they were selling or calling for, but if it was an important call, they would of said their name and the reason they were calling! I put them on my 'blocked call list'!

They'dbeen calling me day and night.  I didn't response because I don't recognize the number. After several days calling without leaving any messages, I finally respond to see what this is about.  They ask for my name, I said who are you, they dont respond but asking if i'm who they are calling. When I said no,  they apologize and hung up. This made me wonder why dont they just tell me who they are??? No fun there and very unprofessional.

Caller ID says "Dream World Vac". I don't know who that is, nor have I ever conducted business with any such entity. That is scam red flag number 1.

They have been calling several times a day for the past week during business hours on weekdays when I am obviously going to be at work. That is scam red flag number 2.

They never leave voicemail, meaning that they themselves know they have nothing legitimate to communicate. That is scam red flag number 3.

It's quite evident that these calls are originating from a telephone spammer.

You are correct about Tom Mitchell and Terry Fleischer.  They have both been in the telemarketing business since the seventys working in boiler rooms scaming the elderly.  Both have made a great deal of money doing this and are big gamblers.
Feel good in that "what goes around comes around" and in the end they have to live with themselfs in their old age.  If you check these guys out you will find that they are both in their sixitys so they will have some explaining to do for their actions soon enought.

There are two main bone-heads running this operation, and their names are Thomas Mitchell and Terry Fleisher. They're basically sharks with no lives who collect mail-order subscriptions from the elderly (or "stupid people", which were their words) and abuse the contestants who supposedly "won" a trip to paradise, as long as they've got their credit cards.

Say no to these people. Terry is a professional poker player, so why wouldn't he open a business like this? He's got the poker face to fool anybody into giving him their credit card numbers, but his promises are empty, much like his skull. His friend Tom is ready to have a heart-attack also, so if you keep hanging up on these people, it may happen sooner than later. These men are unprofessional, disrespectful and do not deserve to succeed in life.

Dreamwold Getaways big travel scam.Dreamwold Getaways big travel scam
My wife and I received a card in the mail offering an incentive (free trip / discount on a trip) if we attended a sales presentation by Reservation Services International .  As we were in the market for a new travel agency, we decided to attend..Dreamworld  Getaways AKA .

The staff worked the crowd (perhaps 8 couples), which included a PowerPoint presentation offering bought-in-bulk / sold-at-wholesale discount travel vacations.  The cost of membership was listed at $8995 plus other sign-on and yearly fees.

During a total period of two hours, a sales representative (Jon), and individual identified as his manager, and an individual identified as an office sales manager tried to convince us of the value of their deal.  My wife and I had three requests.  The first was a desire to review, for ourselves, the kinds of travel vacations, destinations and discounts their web site allegedly offered.  This was denied.  (In the office: yes ? on our own: no).  The second request had to do with the organization?s reputation.  (One should spend serious money with those one knows and trusts, or at least has the opportunity to research via the web or BBB.)  The third had to do with the contract, regarding its terms, exclusions, limits, etc.  It was upon asking for the opportunity to better understand the firm and review their contract that we were shown the door by the sales manager.

So we were not the victims of a monetary loss, just the loss of an evening.  But being denied the opportunity to review the contract terms struck me as being unethical and potentially illegal, hence the filing of this report.

While a rip off was successfully avoided, the big lessons learned here were simple.  Always ask to see, and review, any contract before signing.  If a deal is good today, and will be offered to others next week, there is no legitimate reason why an offer made to you cannot be accepted after you've done your due diligence.  Walk away if you are not given the opportunity to review the contract, or must put money down to do so.  When you ask to better understand the merchandise (in this case the breath and value of vacation values) and you are instead get only a for-you-a-better-price pitch, seriously question the value.  Finally, pay careful attention to your surroundings.  For a travel service allegedly in business for more than a decade, there were precious few indications in their offices, or on the marquee outside, that they had been in business for any length of time.  When there are no family pictures on the desks, only stock art on the walls, and the stories about families, ages, and vacations taken have inconsistencies, consider all this a red flag.

this is interesting.  I haven't read any posts here where anyone was ripped off, misrepresented, or didn't get value for their purchase!  So how could it be a scam????  I mean, these guys are in Las Vegas, one of the telemarketing scam capitals of the world!
Just curious!
No real complaints of ripoffs being reported!  Just don't like getting phone calls from a "salesman"!
It appears that losers need to complain, no matter what!!!

If they are slick.. how did they "trick" you?  What is your gripe? There are plenty of people responding on the great time they had.. so just what did they do to you?  I would for one like to have a great vacation & would like to know just what has you so upset?  I am thinking of doing this, but would like to know if they actually did something to make your vacation unpleasant.... dreams do come true
