I got a call from this number tonight when I answered the computer said Our Mistake I am sorry then hung up.

Ditto from Chad's call - computer saying "My Mistake, sorry 'bout that."

when i answered, they said sorry, wrong number and hung up.

they have been calling for giving cash??

Have been getting calls from 702-520-XXXX for the past month.

I received a call at 8:10 a.m. on April 14, 2009 with "sorry about that my mistake" in a woman's voice coming from (269) 768-2301. My question is: Who can I report this abuse to? Can anyone help? Thanks

Our work line got a pre-recorded call from this number...someone who called herself Carol asking me to call Capital for Merchants at 866-404-0428.

When these calls come in it is usually after hours.  Is there a number to call to speak with a person and request a removal from their phone list?

The name that shows up on my Caller ID is INFO SERVICES.

I got the same "Sorry, my mistake" message as everyone else. I agree it must be a phone number validation process for telemarketers. I wish businesses could be included on the DNC list.

9/18/2008-8:07 PST I'm in Vancouver Washington, I let this call go to voice mail, Female voice recording- Carol from Capital for Merchants providing cash for business's. For more info call 1-866-404-0428. I didn't call the number, once you call them it seems you can't get rid of them.

Answers with a recording saying "I'm sorry, I dialed wrong." Getting real sick of these calls, obviously phishing to validate phone number for telemarketers. If you get on the federal Do Not Call registry, you can file a complaint, but I think they need a bunch complaining about the same number before they'll act. Let's get together to clear the wires of these jerks!

Last night must've been a complete outbreak infestation of scumbag telemarketers!

If it weren?t for the stupid environmental wackos that are beyond stupid, I?d like to spray DDT on everyone of these telemarketers. That?s the one pesticide that works, and as we all know, the lefties despise anything that actually works.

Sorry My mistake

We receive about 1-2 calls a month from these jerks.

i work at an answering service which answers for hundreds of doctors and businesses and i recieve this recording at least 10 times a day. it is part of an automated dialing machine that dials business phone numbers to see if they get an answering service or machine so telemarketers can increase productivity by not having to talk to us or machines. when we answer, they will hit a hotkey on their keyboard that plays the message when they call you and dont hear something they want to talk to so they can move on to their next call for the night

Thats what I got when I dialed back the number after it hung up on me. The thing is they called last evening and then again this evening. I have a hunch that this connected to some telemarketing operation that uses an automated dialing system. The machine constantly dials numbers in advance so that the telemarketing person doesn't have to wait for someone to answer the phone. So if they don't have a telemarketer ready when you answer the phone it will simply hang up on you, except this one says in a recorded voice, "Sorry, my mistake".

What does this do, having 50 people write the same stupid thing about a machine calling them, does anyone take action against these idiots??

Maybe they look up the don't call list, or check their own "hung up without biting" list. The machine dials, but then the human reads the "client" screen that pops up and decides not to waste her time.

These people called today on my business line.  The recording said "Sorry, my mistake," and hung up.  I tried the #1, but it only works if you're calling from a personal phone line, not a business line.  I have both and it only worked for my home phone.  It kept repeating the recording ("We only call businesses...") when I tried #1...after 3 tries it hung up on me. I'm also on the Do Not Call Directory for all my lines but I guess this is how they get people-by calling businesses, not home phones.  DON'T ANSWER YOUR BUSINESS LINE IF YOU HAVE CALLER ID AND SEE THIS PHONE NUMBER ON IT.

received call 9/29/09 close to 9:oo PM with new twist:
recording states "sorry we only cal business numbers, press 1 to be removed from our list".

I'm getting these calls from 702-520-1134 that say the same thing -- "Sorry, my mistake".  Apparently, they are coming from a "Paging Phone".  I called the operator and she didn't know what this was.  Has anyone figured out how to stop this?

"Sorry, my mistake" too.  Isn't that weird?  Could they be getting a working number to scam with phony charges.  Two years ago I got porn charges for my fax number from Guinea Bissau (Africa).  I'm an ole granny....can't you just see a senior sitting by the fax waiting for porn?  If I hadn't been so ticked, I would have laughed.
