This group keeps calling me, with various numbers. It is most likely the auto warranty company. Is there anything we can do to close these people down?

They called me again. I started the conversation with "stop calling me, I know this is a scam"  They said they were a waranty company, I forget the name he used...and that I could look them up on the BBB - that they "have a score of A-".  I told them to send anything via mail and to stop calling.

Got a call from them yesterday.  I will pursuit them in the coming days just like the previous warranty that scammed me.  I didn't get coverage this time around and they called my cell phone.

This is an ongoing scam.  Unlike the previous "Spoofed" caller IDs, this is a number real and  is leased from DIGITCOM SERVICES, INC 866-225-1956. They would like to be informed of these calls since they are against the lease agreement.  Apparently they can contact the callers and tell them to cut-it-out.

Called for a warranty on my car, asking how many miles it had on it. If I owned it, and then tried to transfer me to a salesperson. I clicked.

I received a call from Warranty Service about 6 weeks ago.  This was the 10th call I had received from this group, so I decided to play along.  When the guy asked for my car info and name, I gave him some bogus info about a '98 Olds or something and a fake name.  He took all of the info and then told me he would transfer me to a "warranty specialist".  Well, after being on hold for about 3 minutes, I hung up.

Today, I received a phone call.  Caller asked for Burt Smith.  I replied that there was no Burt Smith at this number and hung up.  About ten minutes later, I remembered Burt Smith was the alias I used when first called.

So much for quick turn around on a warranty request.

Same thing.. said something about Vehicle Information Services.  I asked for a number to call them back but she said "we don't have one, it's a call center."  SCAM ALERT.

I got a call from this number, and the guy said "sorry for the delay in responding to the warranty quoted you requested"...  I told him "you mean sorry for not taking my number off your list?"...and he just hung up...

It's pretty old now.  I would love to know how my personal cell number is so easily accessible to these scammers.

This is a scam!  A woman called behalf of U.S. Warranty Center.  Said she want to apologize for not getting back to me on a car warranty.  I never had any prior contact with this person, nor have I requested a car warranty.  Just another huckster.

Hehehehe. funny. I have screwed with them, but there is 1 drawback to it, now they know that's a # with a live person and other calls begin to proliferate from other companies. Here is my suggestion:

These are BS sales call. IT'S THE TELEPHONE EQUIVALENT OF EMAIL SPAM. NEVER ANSWER IT!

Here's the thing: If you answer, you get put on a list of "live" people for future call backs and for selling their sales list of "live" people to other companies wanting good "live" numbers. If you press a # to be taken off their call list, you are again marking yourself as a "live" person. DO NOT ANSWER ANY NUMBER YOU DON'T RECOGNIZE, just as you wouldn't open or answer any email from someone you don't recognize.

The government can't help with this any more than they can stop email spam. Besides we need to stop relying on the government as if we're helpless children sucking on the govt teat.

Here's an idea. Get an autodialer and put it on a regular phone so it won't cost you a fortune. Then auto dial these spazzholes 1000 times a day. You can probably get a program for any computer to do this. Plus, i'd be very surprised if the dialing capabilities built into the Operating System couldn't be programmed to call automatically and play a recorded message like, "Hi Azzwipe, just calling to say fack you." This will cost them money both for phone usage and for time lost calling other suckers. Better yet, organize a group of people to do this all day long.

Most people will never go to that extreme. So just don't answer any number you don't recognize and do not press any number to be taken off their call lists. I explained why earlier. If you like this idea, pass it on to others. Wouldn't it be funny as Hell if they got bothered to death for a change? Hasta la Vista, Baby.

got it on a cell phone that's otherwise unused, so they're
clearly just calling numbers in some kind of sequence.  no
idea what today's pitch was; it's just "missed call" for me.

I, too, am getting phone calls from the moron CSR's at 712-520-1319.  My advice is same as Marhal's: string these idiots along.  It's entertaining and doing them a service because the sooner these people realize they can only get ahead in a real career, the sooner they will quit harassing everyone else.

These people have called me repeatedly despite telling them to stop calling.. And once they're told to stop calling, they have another company call me later on.   I told this person to put me on a do not call list and take me off of call lists (because you have to be careful about your language or they'll violate your request without breaking the "law"), and she said that she doesn't have any lists and only has a file!   What has the industry come to, when we have such a problem with telemarketing and there aren't any rights anymore.

Anyway.. I asked for the company name and state, and I was told "Contract Services" from "Georgia", but it's a Nevada phone number.

Either way, they hide their true identity so you can't figure out who actually called you and are unable to file a complaint, even if you ask for that information.  Good luck tracking down the "Contract Services" company in "Georgia" or tracing the number... I bet nobody knows who is operating those phone calls, or which company is having them operate the calls for.

I'm sick and tired of getting these calls!!!!!

I like to mess with them when they call if I am bored.  After receiving many calls that the warranty is about to run out on my vehicle, I realized that they have no idea what vehicle I drive.  They make it sound like they are calling about a specific vehicle, when I asked them which one they asked me what I drive.  So I asked again which vehicle they are calling about and they hung up.  I consider it a scam because they give the false pretense that your vehicle, which they dont even know if you have one, is about to come out of warranty.  Also, they will not give you a # to call them back and in order to get it you have to order it now, without research or thinking about it.  So now I just string them along like I am very interested and waste as much of their time as I can, its great for passing the time if your driving or something. LOL. I figure the longer I tie them up the less people they can scam, like my mother, who would fall for their scam.

received the call... it's a warranty service. I believe it's related to one of those auto warranty places that call every few months trying to sell an extended warranty on my non-existent bentley.
