A recording played telling me that my car warranty was about to expire.

I keep getting calls from this number even thou i am on the do not call list. it is happening multiple times a day. the company that calls is a fraud.

    Since they do not provide a address, email, or business name where we can contact them, I request such information to the above stated number.
    If, in the event that such information can not be given, I request to be placed on their internal do not call list, and I request a copy of that internal do not call list. This number is violating federal law and you are their provider.

I've been tracking these calls for a couple months.  I first found out about the fraud in August when they called.  I didn't answer and googled the number only to find out that it really is fraud.  I've been trying to get someone on the line to ask questions.  They finally called during a time I could answer and I ended up on the phone with someone named Tracy (which is on a lot of the other complaint letters from others) and she wanted to know if I was interested in a warranty.  I asked her a couple questions, and she proceeded to talk for a few minutes.  I used that time to research her name and company and number and 888 number she supplied me.  I found out it's the same people leaving messages from before.  She wanted me to pay her $2700 for a 24 month warranty on my car- which she didn't know.  I gave her a fake name and she had no clue it was fake.  She went on and on about what the "warranty" covered which made her sound legit.  But when I asked the name of the company again, she said gawarranty.  Of course, there is no gawarranty.  Then she said Greater Atlantic.  But the numbers provided by her and the numbers advertised by Greater Atlantic didn't match.  I ask for her supervisor and she said his name was Anthony.  When I asked his last name, she said "Smith".  Obviously lying.  I told her why I let her talk for so long then I hit her with all of my questions about fraud.  She got nervous and I told her that if I get another call from the company, I would file suit.  Now I've got 6 definate dates and specific notes about each.  If you would like to join my lawsuit, post to this site.

The calls are from consumerdirectwarranty.com, owned by Essex Insurance. I get calls from this company every day to buy a warranty for my car. I've asked to be taken off the list but I just get hung up on and they keep calling... Today I played along and pretended to be interested. This # keeps calling. It's been a couple months now. I was intersted in knowing about this extended warrenty but, I can never talk to anyone. So, I returned the call and jsut short message then the beep. Today I googled the number and found this site. Sounds like SCAMMERS.

Is just a recording the same as the other ones have said.  I thought at one time if they said you did not want these calls anymore, to push one of the numbers.  I did that but I guess it did not work.

Answered with the appropriate business greeting and then the caller hung up.

recieved several calls almost daily heve punched button 2  and held for salesperson but only to get hung up on ......what i'd really like to do is punch one of them in the face ...lol ! but these folks are a real pain in the butt!!!! these dummys keep trying to sell car warrenties on vehicles i don't even own.

The call is a recording wanting the person to renew a car warranty. It giI have received so many calls from 1-410-968-7969 in the last 2 weeks and today. I?ve answered the call; right away a lady asked me "are you extending your car's warranty?" I said I think I have some more time. She said "we are calling six month before it expire". Then I asked how much the cost will be and she told me it will be $2,400 and if I pay $500 right away the cost will be $1,965. And she said "Hold on and transferred to other lady and the lady asked the type of my car and I gave the type of my car (where I was tricked and become stupid. I should have known that if she doesn't know the type of the car how did she know that I need warranty). However, I gave the type of my car, the number, the millage and my credit card. And was told the warranty will be for five years and I will receive $20 coupon to use is it in any oil changers. In the mean time I was told to hold on for a while that she has some problem with the computer. She was back again talked to me how I?m doing, about the warranty and then again transferred to a guy that will verify and he greeted me and went talked about the warranty, about the coupon and not to use the coupon at my dealer but at others lubes. Also told me during the oil change what will happen and the warranty will start after 500 mileage drive. Then he asked me to spell my last name, my address and the credit card number. Then he told me he will send the warranty and the coupon within the next few days and he thanked me and hang up. Right away I did not feel comfortable and checked the number on line and find out these guys are scammers. Then right away I've cancelled my credit card, within few minutes  I think the same lady called me from Nevada (1-702-5541461) and told me my credit card is not good.  I've told her sorry you are scammer she denied and told me the number that I've called and checked on line was not their number and want to give me another corporate number which I've refused and hang up. When I check this number it is from Nevada and it is one of the number they are using to scam. Thank you guys for posting on line you guys saved me.ves you the options of being removed form the call list or holding for a representative. I have tried both. I have had multiple calls from this number.  Finally pressed 2 to be removed and have recieved multiple calls since.  Pressed 1 and spoke to a rep.  Asked to speak to a supervisor and was put on hold and ultimately got disconnected.  I have since called my state's General Attorney's office.  They encouraged me to file a complaint and indicated that what this company is doing is illegal.  Finding the number for your GA is easy.  It is in your phone book or simple search on the web.

I had a Memphis detective agency call a similar company and tell them to quit calling. Now, the same type business is calling again,,,car warranties.

I've received numerous calls from this number but since I screen all of my calls and they don't leave messages, this could go on for awhile.

i get a call from this number almost daily.i have pressed 2 to remove my number but today i spoke to a person who wanted information from me.i said if i have a warranty with you that needs extended you have the answers to that.what kind of car do i have covered with you? because my new car has a warranty thru gm.the guy asked did i have another car,itold him none of your bussiness so he hung up. i tried to call the number back but get an answering machine.thats when i found this sight.

I have received numerous phone calls from this number. I tried 3 times to ask to be removed and pushed the button or spoke with someone. I am still getting the calls. Sometimes they don't identify themselves and then the line just goes dead. Enough! End this!I also am receving cards from a company about a warranty on cars I don't even own. I tried returning it to the sender, but the post office simply put it back in my box even though I wrote very plainly "RETURN TO SENDER".

I have received two calls from this number thus far.  The first, I actually talked to a peson that asked for a person with a similar name to someone in our family.  I told the lady the information is wrong which led her into asking if I'd like a warranty on a car.  I replied no and she thanked me for my time and said she would change the information so I wouldn't receive anymore calls.  A few days later I got another call.  The answering machine got it and no message was left.  I think they will keep calling but I'll just let the answering machine take all of their calls from now on.  My caller ID just displayed their phone number but I looked them up.
