I also got a call from this number.  can tell you an easy way to deal with them.  google their number and find out the service provider for that number.  then google that company and contact their security dept or customer service for that company.  Let them know about the calls you are getting.  also, let them know that you are informing them first in an attempt to get the calls stopped.  then tell them that if they fail to take action, you will then seek legal action against them as well as the person calling.

They called me to. The news said that people are using track phones to get peoples identity and steal it. Or it could be people from india or africa trying to get you to give up your personal information. Just do not answer it. My phone company said there is nothing they can do but block the number and they can't be caught because it's a track phone and they throw them away after they are done with them.

I work for a financial institute so I answered the call and tried to play along.  The female was completely ignorant of what she was trying to sell. She gave me to the floor supervisor. He wouldn't tell me the company name so I could google them and told me I was in so much debt because I'm on the internet so much (how insulting!). He argued with me so I hung up on him.

Man, it's infuriating how many calls I get from that pack of thieves. And there's the rub: I'm on the No Call List as well, but crooks are law-breakers by-definition. They don't give a #@#@ about your no-call status. They're fishing for gullible people who'll fall for their games. And there are always such people. The psychology of this phenomenon is very interesting: Some people, even if they are suspicious that they're about to be had, will cave in to the caller anyhow, b/c of an ingrained "respect for 'Authority.'" And that's why robo-callers use threats: The timid assume that only very "authoritative"...beasts can do that. *sigh*

I'm on the National No-Call List as well. But the crooks don't care; they're in the process of breaking other laws, anyhow. I'm disappointed that the NNC doesn't have a system that blocks such calls for registrees. It doesn't; oh well. Welcome to the Brave New World.

Precisely! Which folks should never pick up the phone if they don't recognize the caller. Answering robo-caller gives you the dubious honor of entering a list of "confirmed hits," i.e., #s held by real people. And that sets the stage for further mischief you truly don't want.

Thank you! All the details in your (detailed) msg were quite informative. Not that I pick up when one of these critters calls, but, wow, I'd no clue that they hack into phones. But, then, why not? Cells have encryption that's a lot easier to crack than the Internet variety. And that's hacked, too, as many of us know all too well.

Maddening that these slugs have expanded their criminal activities to cellular lines. In the past, I only got such calls on land-lines, which I only use @ work.

It's wild that the "companies" still use illegal scare tactics on randomly robo-chosen folks. I guess some people still have the habit of trusting that all phone calls are from genuine, relevant sources. No!

I'd be tempted to call back &, if I got a subhuman or VM, saying: "Consider this your last msg...." But don't do that: That just lets them know that you exist.

In fact, calling back can be a mistake, as this alerts the morons to the fact that there's a real-person behind the # they called--yours.

Same here: They called my cell & I keep that # private. Is this a practitioner of the art of robocalling. "Mine" was a hangup; no msg was left, just the imprint of the NV #. I like the coache's whistle.

They have called my home phone and told them to take me off their list...now they are calling my cell phone...and you can't call them back either.   They generically say they can reduce your interest rate on credit cards.... total scam...when you ask to be removed they hang up on you....

I think they went on www.spokeo.com and somehow retrieved personal info about you...you would be amazed what is their about you....

I was actually wondering the same thing!  Recently there were some Spam going around on FB.  I would set my setting to just you to see the number, but doesnt mean they could hack in.  I also would change my security setting to havet the HTTP: to read HTTPS: this will "S"ecure your site.

Im on the national do not call list.  Received a call from this number with a recording talking about federal credit debt reduction act.  I waited and got a man on the phone.  I informed him that I have been on the national do not call list for a while.  He just hung up on me.  Did not apologize or say will take you off their list.  This is a scammer and a dumb scammer calling numbers that are registered not to call.  Called the number back and got a the mailbox has not been setup recording.

got this call a few minutes ago, waited 5 minutes till a human came on so I could chew him out.  they have three or four prompts about how some one will be with you, etc.  I am also on the no call list. However he did not hear me out, which I figured would happen, I tried to block the number but could not find the option on my Verizon cell phone. It was about a credit card which I do  not even have.

I also went on donotcall.gov to register the complaint with the FCC. I pressed 1 after about the 10th call wanting to lower my credit card rates and I don't even have a balance. She wouldn't tell me the name of the company she was calling from and would only tell me "Account Services". I kept asking the name of the company which must have upset her as she got rude. I guarantee my response upset her more. Hopefully the FCC will track them down and really upset them. Everyone that receives a call from this number needs to file a complaint.
