Call recorded 09 December 2014 "Uh, this is John from shipping, your alarm is already paid for..." SCAM robo call
Caller ID: "Cell Phone NV"
also called from: (702) 705-7353 | (925) 221-2319 | (702) 705-7302 | (805) 570-6779 | (425) 406-9436 | (201) 499-0217 | (201) 367-1691 | (610) 755-8482 | (484) 483-6286 | (732) 510-5497 | (610) 257-7095
This caller doesn't pay any attention to the Do Not Call list.. Tells you something about his business ethic, doesn't it?
This one's slick, I actually thought there was a live person on the line the first time I heard this call. I could hear him flipping the pages of paper he was reading and I was all set to "play" with the caller when I realized that it was a recording. I wish I had a nickel for each time he said "...uh..." Following is the text of the recorded robo call...
"Hi, uh, this is John from the shipping department of Emergency Medical Alert, I was calling to uh schedule a delivery of your medical alert system, it's uh the "fallen, and I can't get up" type of system you've seen on TV. Looks like the system's been uh recommended by thousands of hospitals and medical professionals, uh, let's see, says here that the system's already been paid for. Looks like you're getting the system because uh either yourself, a friend, a family member or maybe even someone you know has experienced a fall in the past so uh again it's already been paid for so there's no cost to your whatsoever. Also says here that the shipping has already been paid for so to uh schedule the delivery of your Emergency Medical Alert System press 1 uh again to uh have your system shipped out to you press 1 now...press 5 to decline the shipment of your system...."

They just keep calling, no message- what worthless low life people they are.

Irritating little gremlin listed on the page for the number I called.
Rick 2013-12-11 18:00:32 Unknown
I wish it would work for me, but it only works on certain VOIP carriers so it's usefulness is limited. If you have one of the tens of millions of AT&T landlines, for example, you get the "sorry, this service won't work for you..." message when you enter your information.

I can't imagine that since these calls from "John" have been going on for so long, that people haven't figured out that "John" is nothing more than a recording, and trying to speak to "John", makes them more foolish than the scammers!
PLEASE READ WHAT READ CALLER ID WROTE 2013-12-10 23:36:48 Unknown
This scam is old, same as card services, home security, medical alert, and many more.
If ANYONE over the phone asks for personal information and you didn't ask for the call, it is illegal and a scam.
Don't even provide full name and address. Stop giving personal information over the phone. They target sensors because they are the most vulnerable and less likely to be aware. So warn seniors and others.
To stop the scam, people have to be aware and stop falling for it.

The only reason the medic alert for seniors scammers call us, is to get our credit card number, so they can cheat us!

Just got 2 calls 1/2 hour apart, first one call ID'ed as 'Private caller',2nd one ID'ed as 'CTY'.Bet both from CTY!!! I'm thinking this "CTY" operation is behind 80% of all scam calls in the U.S.!!!! They're the ones who will need medical stuff if I ever find out who and where they are!!

1. Do-Not-Call Registry is a joke.
2. The FTC will not take any action without a "significant" number of complaints. They will not say what makes a "significant" number of complaints. I suggest you do the following:
(1) file a complaint at
https://complaints.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx?panel=2
(2) email or snailmail your congress-persons (Representatives and Senators) about the FTC's failure to enforce the Do-Not-Call list. Mention Donald S. Clark, Secretary of the Commission. This is the guy whose name appears on correspondence claiming they don't have enough complaints. (If you have a Republican, forget this step, they are not interested in our problems or interested in accomplishing anything useful).
(3) call the FTC, Donald S. Clark, Secretary of the Commission at 1-202-326-2514. ( is a joke as well).
3. Just block the idiots !!!!!!!!
Scott 2013-12-10 17:21:50 Unknown
Shows up as "CTY" on caller ID, they call several times a day but there is never anybody there. Called back and pressed "1" for "do not call" but they still call.

Another call from "CTY". This follows the same call on 11/25 from 702-705-7302. Both for a medical alert braclet. "John from shipping about delivery of your ______ (fill in the blank) Alert system." This is the new credit card interest scam hoping to cash in on the "that you ordered" angle.
Both numbers are use CallerID4U, Inc. in California, as their carrier. Include them in your complaint.

Susan 2013-12-10 05:43:52 Unknown
It rang once and then was blocked on my Panasonic block list. I put the number on there from a prior call. there are too many of these creeps for the government to catch all of them. If they obeyed the law, like the do not call list, they wouldn't be in business to begin with because their income depends on scamming someone. don't expect the DNC list to stop them. You have to get your phone company to block them or use a phone that has blocking capabilities. I don't have a cell phone because we don't have any reception up near the border, so this is my home phone they are calling.
