Called me this am (June 11) and several times before.  Never leaves a voice mail, always a hang-up.

They call every few days, but when I answer....nothing.  And then CLICK they just hang up!

I get a call from this number every week for the past two months. And when I did answer, they were barely able to speak any language that I know. Twice I told them that this is not a law firm, but they keep calling to "update the record". I guess I should start a law firm.

WOW - great website. we just received the same call and the woman refused to leave a VM for me or a number. Even if it is a contractor to the ABA - I am not giving anything out over the phone. Very odd.

Called the ABA about the solicitations from this number and representation that I was speaking with the ABA. ABA (Pat) acknowledged that it was a tele-marketing company hired to solicit renewals and that it utilizes multiple tele-marketing companies for such purpose, however, would not identify the company at this number. I do not recall giving the ABA permission to provide my application information to any third-party.

Keep receiving calls, no message or reply.

I received a call from this number - no message, when I googled it and saw the complaints, it does appear to be a phishing effort.

The caller reported that she was from the ABA.  She knew my law school graduation year and wanted me to confirm the month that I graduated.  I told her that I did not feel comfortable giving personal information over the telephone.  She told me that the ABA needs information about its members in order to improve services, and started telling me about ABA services.  I interrupted to tell her that I was not interested and hung up.  When I tried to call the number listed on the caller id, I was told by a recorded message that "We're sorry.  The number you have dialed is being checked for trouble."

Just got this same call. You would think that with all the lawyers presumably being targeted by this number, at least one of them would take the true "ABA" to task to shut them down. Well, ABA, how about it? (hint: unfair competition, trademark dilution, deceptive trade practice, ...)

They wanted to speak to the attorney about handling their personal liability litigation.

I just got a call from this number and the caller hung up.  I looked it up, only to find this webpage full of complaints.  Scary.

I just received a call from the same number about 20 minutes ago.  The lady told me my ABA membership had elapsed and that I could renew over the phone.  My membership is in good standing right now.  I of course declined to give her any financial info and she said she will send an invoive in the mail.  What scares me is that she had my home address.  I am curious to see if they attempt to send me anything.

Kept getting hang up calls from this number.  Finally someone was on the phone and claimed to be from the ABA.  She tried to get personal information.  Seems like a phishing attempt, since I have been a member of the ABA for 10 years and this person could not confirm any information and seemed to be guessing on things.  Kept trying to sell me membership until I urged her to stop and leave me alone.

Called at 3 pm on Monday (today).  I answered on the 3rd ring  - whereupon they hung up.

Rang, no one there, which made me think auto-dialer.  Hung up and Googled the number and found this.  I suspect it was the ABA.

I answered heard a few clicks, but no answer.  Called the number back and got a recording.  Said "if you want your number removed from our list enter the 10 digit number now."  Don't know if this will help or if that means that have a good number and will keep calling back.

They called and asked for my husband, when I said I'd have him call back she acted real nervous and hung up.

Caller claimed to be from the American Bar Association also, refused to leave a message.  I called the number back and an automatic voice prompt comes on saying that it is the ABA and someone will return the call soon.
