This is Argon (collections for Nevada Power - at least mine is).  They are a legit collections, however they charge a $10 fee that they never tell you about and didn't send my letter showing the payment was credited to my account until after I threatened to not pay any more on the account.  They had promised this letter when I made the 1st payment.  I would recommend finding out the original creditor and contacting them before making any payments to them and see if you can work it out with the origianl creditor first.

This is Argon Collection Agency in Las Vegas. They left no message.  There are two people who are in debt who give out my number.  I've involved my state's Attorney General office to get the agency to stop calling.  If they call again, I can have them fined.

Mr. Davis from Aargon called my mother repeatedly saying to call back the collection company.  Only thing is my parents don't have any debts...of any kind.  I called him back and told him it is impossible for my parents to have debt.  My parents are fortunate to own everything out right.

That's why I believed this phone call to be a scam.  I have every intention of reporting Mr. Davis (of Las Vegas) and Aargon Collection Company to the BBB, FTC and whomever else will listen.  First of all, my family was never sent a bill of any kind, he had the address wrong, the DOB wrong, everything he said was wrong, wrong, wrong.  I think he was making up the story as we went along.  The only thing he did have right was my mom's name and phone number information that is easily accessible.

I told him I would sue him and his company and would like his full name and address and he apologized profusely for the incident and said he would not call again.

I think these collection agencies (AKA criminals) pray on unsuspecting Americans.  Most people have debt and may have missed a bill here or there.  Companies like Aargon and Mr. Davis pray upon these innocents.

It was only when I threatened to track him down and sue him did he retract every single statement he made.  Some people say to ignore the phone calls.  My suggestion is to call them back on a secure, blocked landline and figure out what is going on.

These jerks keep calling me asking for a girl named Stephanie. Each time I told them that I don't know who that is, but they continue to call. I won't hesitate to contact a lawyer if they call again.

Under the TCPA, a consumer has a right to file a lawsuit and recover $500 for each call that violates the TCPA. The TCPA can also be used in conjunction with the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act in some situations.

Generally, the TCPA does not apply to debt collectors making collection calls to debtors. However, if you are subjected to calls from a debt collector and you are not the debtor, you may file a lawsuit against the debt collector under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and the TCPA.

This right was recently recognized by Judge Legrome D. Davis in a case called Watson v. NCO Group, Inc.  NCO Group is a debt collector that uses automated prerecorded collection calls.  In this case, Mr. Watson alleged he was getting hundreds of calls from NCO Group after he got a new phone number. Mr. Watson claimed he owed no debt to NCO Group, Inc.  Mr. Watson filed suit under both the FDCPA and TCPA.

David Israel, defense lawyer for NCO, argued that the TCPA should not apply to debt collectors.  Judge Davis rejected the argument made by David Israel. The judge ruled that Mr. Watson had a right to sue NCO Group Inc under the TCPA for $500 for each call.  Judge Davis wrote;

[The] Court is convinced that a non-debtor's rights are in fact violated when he is subjected to repeated annoying and abusive debt collection calls that he remains powerless to stop.

Judge Davis' ruling was based upon his interpretation that collection calls to non-debtors violate the privacy rights provided by the TCPA.

So what can you do if you receive "wrong number" calls from debt collectors?

1. Sign up for the Do-Not-Call registry.
2. Save the calls captured by your voice mail or answering machine.
3. Contact a consumer lawyer.

God's Blessings on you.  Not many understand that marriage is a COVENANT between God, a husband and the wife of his youth.  Also a representation of God's relationship with us and a "...two in agreement..." which is why the evil one wants to destroy marriages.  Thank you

I think they are a collection agency. That they call looking for my husband is good because it shows me God still Says he belongs here and God is working on bringing him home to me and restoring our marriage. They just gave me a msg and a # for him to call them back.
