called my girlfriend's mother asking to settle a debt that has past the 6 year Statutes of Limitation for collecting medical debt in the State of Nevada. First time they called was half a year too late. be sure to ask the year of the date of the bill. suspect they are buying old debts to get money from the uninformed.

I did the same thing once, called it back and told her I missed a call from your number and who was calling, she said this is ACSI and hung up right away.  I never heard of them.  No body answers if I pick up, they hang up, if it was a reputable collection agency, they would speak cause they love to verbally harass people.  I have a smart phone and recently put the number in my contact list w/name as 'BLOCKED' and clicked Block this call at the bottom of the contact page.  I am doing the same for each different number and typing BLOCKED for each one.  When I checked the log, it shows the number for that 'BLOCKED" CUSTOMER who just called.... They are up to no good and trying all of this for something, just remember that!!! I know they will change the number, but if it is unfamiliar, I'm not wasting time and will do the same right away. I'm more concerned as to what kind of equipment they might have that may allow them to suck any information out from our phone if we answer..........WE ALL NEED TO BE CAREFUL AND PROACTIVE TOGETHER!!!!!  MY SUGGESTION IS "DO NOT ANSWER AT ALL!!!"   I also started entering the phone number into the internet and I've always gotten that they are (SCAM NUMBERS AND TO REPORT THEM.....)

That is highly illegal. Get proof of call & you have a case against them you will win. There are laws in place debt collectors must follow, one of those being times during the day allowed to call.

They call but my phone only rings once or twice, never enough time to answer! If they want to talk then stop letting it ring just once!!!!

They called me at 2:16AM this morning

Called and left no message... at 2AM!!!!

Just got a call from this # at 1215 in the freaking morning in West TN! No matter if I owe or don't owe, it is against any of the rules and regs for collection agencies to call after 9! Annoying. And on top of that they didn't say anything  when I answered.

They keep calling me every 2 minutes every day from 9398330 then 939-8331 etc etc they let it ring once or twice then hang up. AND NEVER LEAVE A MESSAGE!!! This is harrassing and irritating. And I'm on the do not call list!! DO NOT CALL ME ANY MORE!!!!!!

No, how about YOU quit making trollish remarks.  The poster was asking for more information - AS IS HER RIGHT PER FEDERAL LAW - and the caller refused.  Per the FDCPA, no one should pay any caller who refuses to mail a debt validation letter within five days of their first call.  Refusal to mail the DV letter is a violation of federal law.

Here's an idea - why don't YOU get a job - preferably one that doesn't involve stealing from others or scamming, pay what YOU owe and YOU won't have to worry about being called a shill and a troll.  Seems logical!

Do not know who these people are. recently had a death in family they have been calling at least twice a day no bills are owed all medical bills have been paid if anyone has any info how to stop these calls please post.  If u get these calls DONot answer they never go away this is a SCAM i think they just want info and money

This is a debt collector for medical bills. I returned the call and actually it is legitimate. I will be going on a payment plan with them and freeze the interest fees.

The agency may still try to hold you liable for any debt incurred while you were married. Be sure to raise a prompt dispute if you get a dunning letter, and again, make a cease-communication notice on paper to frustrate their campaign.

No, problem delayed. iQor/Allied Interstate has many numbers to toss at your one and can easily afford to create new VOIP numbers just for you. Revoke permission to call on paper and you get it done in one stroke while preserving your right to relief if they disobey.

Hope you kept good enough records to sue in the next five months. The tough part is proving your no-call demand was received. If your request was verbal only, it's easy for a scofflaw agency to blow it off. *ALWAYS* use USPS Certified with return card when making demands of debt collectors.

Just know that you NEVER have to deal with any idiot from a collection agency.  Once you know that one is calling, NEVER answer the phone, no matter how many times they call.

this number just called me and asked for me by name and last name but it sounded like a machine not a person.
I told them it was me and then I heard 2 people arguing in the back ground. I have no idea what it was but it sounded real stupid. I kept saying hello hello and all I can hear was the people arguing then they hung up on me.

They must be some real old old collections cuz they called me by my first married name. I've been divorced since 99...lol Probably something my x left behind & didn't pay. Not my problem the divorce he got all the debts he rung up...Call him!! Just put it on auto block I won't hear from them again. :)

I just got off the phone with this so called Collection agency ! she said I had an outstanding charge from a hotel that was in collections that I just stayed 1 month ago ! I have no such debt ! she argued with me and wanted me to pay it I knew it was fradulant please do not pay anything!

Got calls from same fricken # 702-939-8300!  All I did was blocked the call on my cell phone.  Problem resolved

They call and hang up. I called back a couple weeks ago and reminded them that I had asked them to stop calling and that they are legally obligated to stop calling. That was a Friday. On Saturday, they called me seven times, each time hanging up. Sunday they called 12 times.

Then, today, they called again, hanging up when I answered.

I had the rudest f****r just call me from here too. Name was "Mr. Davis". I told him I didn't know what he was talking about when he referred to some debt I owe from some doctor I have never heard of. I asked for more information to which he replied "I'll go ahead a mark this as refusal to pay." OK, when the hell did I say I didn't want to pay. So I told him he was f****ng rude and hung up on him. Called the number back to see if I could complain to someone about him and HE answered the phone. I'm gonna keep calling and harassing him all day.
