11/1/12. Also got a call reporting to be from microsoft.  Gave me his call back numer as this.

Received a call on 9-28-2012 from someone whose name I did not understand she claimed to be with Windows Service Center. Shut down my computer which I am now unable to access without a password. She said she will call back tomorrow. In the medantime I am using a different computer.

Just got a call from this number. "Alexander" told me he was with microsoft and my computer was infected and he was going to fix it for me.  He wanted me to log on and he would walk me thru the steps to prevent a major crash.   I could barely understand him due to a very thick accent.  I told him I was on my way out and I would call him back.  It took him 5 tries to give me his phone #.  He kept mixing up the numbers and not giving enought numbers.    I asked him where he was calling from....get this...He said he was calling from California New Jersey.

I got this call, same as everyone else here, and i allowed them into my computer. When i refused to pay for their service, they said to restart my computer and that they would be expecting a call from me soon. I turn my computer back on, and they have placed a password on the computer, saying i cant get in until i get the password from them. I called back and yelled at them, and they gave me a password that would let me into my own computer. WTF?

I received a call from 385-313- 3975 . Person with strong accent said he was calling from Microsoft Windows and wanted me to turn on my computor to fix a problem or my computor will crash. He said his name was, get this, Mac Williams. He gave the number above and when I called the first time- no answer. Second time it sounded like the one guy who sounded professional in this operation ran accross the room to answer "Microsoft". I hung up at that point

Its a scam.  They tell you there is malware on your computer and offer a free scan.  They install malware, then try to charge you $$$$ to remove it.  They don't really remove it.  

When they call, lie.  Tell them you don't have a computer.

Same thing happened to my husband.   Claimed to be from the repair unit of Windows, wanted to access our computer and asked for personal information.

I got the same call the Friday before Labore day and I asked the same questions about how I would know their legitamacy. And she seemed to know my name, address etc. Scary

Today is Labor Day, we got this call stating there was a problem with infections in our computer and claiming to be calling regarding Windows provider. When asked for his number he gave 702-997-0263, gave name Harry Divison. When we expressed concern for scams he stated that I could check for references on the computer indicating the problems.  

They're working hard to get into our computers, dont believe it!

Receive call ask for contact number this number was give with address in Hicksville,  NY company name Microtech Assist- Technical Department of Windows.

Wife received call earlier today allegedly from Microsoft service provider.  Stated computer will crash soon.  Has significant problems.  Wanted remote access and presented software fix for $89.00.  Attempted on multiple occasions to call this number with no answer.
