This scam has obviously started back up. I have received several calls from this number in the past few days. They do leave a message for "George Adams" (no one here by that name) and insist it is important that we call them back. Since no one in my family has had any business with the NFCU, we could not possibly have any overdrafts or outstanding debts with them. Anon is obviously a shill for these phishers. Not that I plan to call them back, but I guarantee that if I did, they would ask for personal information to " verify" my status. It's a shame that enough poor souls fall for these scams to make it profitable for these low-lifes.

I just got the following msg from NFCU, with the way to get off their call list (Wish the rest of our government and banks ran this smooth):

I called the number and a lady answered. She said she was from Navy Federal. I was hesitant becuase she did not have the Navy federal customer service tone ot ediquette I am use to.   NFCU member over 25 years. I told her i was returning the call and she ask for my access number in order to find out what she called me about. I simply told her she did noty sound like she was from NFCU and I ended the call.

I just recieved a call from this number, I ddint anwser and no message was left.  On prior attempts made from this number I have tried answering  After saying hello at least three or four times there was no answer.

I got many calls from this numnber when i answer it, it says NAvy Federal Credit Union and they're looking for somebodys name. The automatedd answering machine said if they reach  a wrong number, press 3, so I did but then they still bugging looking for the name of guy that I dont even know. They are irritatinng.

This is NOT a scam or phishing scam. It IS a NavyFed number. It's not surprising someone at NFCU didn't recognize the number as it's probably part of a whole series of ROLLOVER lines where only one number is the main number recognized. (Some lines at other places like that are outgoing only on the rollovers, and you won't even reach them since you get a recording saying not in service.) If you call them back, they OBVIOUSLY need some of your info to determine who you are and your account info. But if you'd rather not do that, then just call your own branch to find out why they're calling. Although, is you're late on any payments, over your limit on a credit card, etc., then duh - you KNOW why they're calling you.

Got a call from this no. 703-255-8387, like this is the fourth one called NFCU, they said it's not their no. I called back, it's a message they want me to give my ss no. so I hanged up, this is a scam don't call them back.

navy feds phone # is 703-255-8 8 3 7 not 703-255-8 3 8 7... sounds phishy to me..

its a fraud. dont give them any info. i reported the number to navyfed already and listed it as a phishing scam.

Its navy federal. They call when you dont pay your credit card. They also call several times when you go over your limit.

I did get a message left looking for someone I do not know.  As it was to my new cell phone number, they probably just have the wrong number. (might be a collector calling, looking for someone owing money).

My msg to the US Navy got the following response (Not much help):

creepy! I just got a call from this number and decided to search it on google... and i got THIS WEBSITE. wtf. caller hung up after a few seconds.

I just recieved a call from this number too. It's Navy Federal Creedit Union, credit card department.

I just recieved several phone calls from this number, no messages left. This is on my cell phone!

Got two calls from this number this morning, as well. Didn't answer either time. Guess I'm glad I didn't!

Just got a call from 703-255-8387 and I missed the call, but no voicemail was left.  Call was on 9:52AM on 9/12/2007.
