Why don't they leave a message as to why they are calling and a number to contact? If they don't get an answer by phone and it's important send a letter. There are many people that do not answer unrecognized numbers. What good is the no call list? Why are political calls and telemarketer calls allowed to use the no call list for campaigning and other solicitations?

Update: Actually they were not that bad ... they are the new "kinder, gentler" Sallie Mae and they just want to update your contact info, get you to apply for a new deferment or make a payment ... still the underlying premise remains intact; you owe us this debt that grows every day and can never be discharged, and we will quietly lie in wait until you ever have any assets and/ or money, and collect it all plus fee interest and penalties until the day you die ...
