Received calls from # 703-994-4449, ANNOYING!!!!

This number CALLED AGAIN today, LESS THAN 24 hours after the first one.  We had it BLOCKED after the first call, so all they got was a DISCONNECT sound!  HA!

I suspect this number is connected to similar FAKE, PHONY, UNREGISTERED "Veterans' Charity" calls (SCAMS) from
301-880-4567 Last called 1/6/14
240-920-0671 Last called 12/19/13 and
540-765-2514 Last called 12/17/13.

ALL have been BLOCKED, so they just have to keep changing their number and trying to harass us again!
ALL have been REPORTED to the DNC List, too.

Got a SECOND SPAM/SCAM call ~less then~ 3 hours before from 301-880-4567.  ALSO a 'Veterans' Association' FAKE CHARITY call.

THERE IS NO SUCH VETERANS' CHARITY by that name.  Verify: www.charitynavigator.org.
I believe these two calls are connected - and that the numbers are spoofed.

The FTC rates VETERAN CHARITY SCAMS as the NUMBER ONE SCAMMER Call type.

Same MO as **240-920-0671** and **540-765-2514** which called us multiple times in November and December 2013.
These calls used the name "AMERICAN VETERANS SUPPORT FOUNDATION" which is ANOTHER PHONY NAME.

This is our second SPAM call of the day; BOTH "Veteran's Charity" SCAMS.

Other number was 301-880-4567.  Some sources say a "Spider Marketing" company headed by EDWARD KORDELL was the source of that one - IF the number is not just SPOOFED.

If you fall for this, the only 'Donation' you will be making is INTO THE POCKETS OF SCAMMERS.

Charity Navigator AND the National DNC List websites both list "VETERANS 'Charities'" as the NUMBER ONE SCAM METHOD for 2013.  Probably will be for 2014, as well.

They are preying on people's SYMPATHY and GUILT.  DON'T FALL FOR IT.

Donate DIRECTLY to charities you KNOW and contact YOURSELF.  **NEVER** 'give' (i.e. hand over your credit card number) to ANYONE who 'cold calls' you, NO MATTER how 'legitimate' they may sound or seem.

They just called us - DINNERTIME.  I picked up after 3rd ring and hung up without answering to break the call and 'confuse' the robodialer.  Now, they will be BLOCKED, as well.

I have gotten several calls from this number.  A message is never left.  I have never answered.

Guess signing up for the DNC list is useless and meaningless.  Get spam calls all day long, never answer.  I may disconnect my landline which I have had for years.

Thanks for tip about the blocked number feature on the phone.  Turns out my landline cordless phone has the same feature, which I never knew.  Much easier than getting my provider, Verizon, to do it.

I get a call from this number once or twice a day and have for almost two weeks.  I never pick up.

703-994-4449 shown as V10219092200188 which appears to change?

Seriously doubt area codes have any relevance to locations for these Spam/Scam calls.

This is an amazing telemarketing Robot. Calling to pitch "American Veterans Support." Convincingly close to human, but ask a couple of questions and you'll see that it's pre-recorded canned responses. Call the number to talk to him. You might ask if he is a robot. Google "Samantha West Robot" for a story about this "sound board" for telemarketing.

30 Dec 2013 - Call from 703-994-4449. Did not answer.

I just got a call which I will add to my block list.  I will now get no ring but will get a list of blocked calls on my phone.
I have the Panasonic cordless telephone  Model kx-tg6842b (2 handsets)
You can block 250 numbers plus kill the one ring that existed on earlier models that only allowed 30 blocked numbers.  If other phone models are connected you will still get the first ring on them.
The one handset model sells for $70 at Amazon.

Got call from 703-994-4449. Don't answer these calls as I know few folks in VA, and see here it is a scammer.

No msg.

Received a call @ 8:30 p.m. from this #.  No message left.  Am on the DNC list. Annoying.

It's the same scammer that was calling me from 540-765-2514 until I blocked that number. Two days later - they took Christmas off, they started calling me from this number. They are in Virginia.

Who has been calling me with this number?
