Got a call at about 6:15 pm last night.  Because I do know people and do business with people in the 704 area code, I answered the call.  The person "Tameka" said she was calling from BOA and that some pages from my bank statements got sent to the wrong person that that she just thought she should call me personally and let me know.  Said okay and hung up.  Before I hung up she asked if  she had answered all of my questions.  Dialed number back and got the same message that the call could not be made without a charge. Told to dial 8 and then 1.  Then I hung up.

THIS IS " Wells Fargo/Wachovia " and there main office is at Hwy 485 and E.WT Harris Blvd.
in Charlotte, NC. I was also talking with a 401K rep. on my land line. and shortly after got a call on my cell phone, but she left me a message to call her back and gave me a number to call it WAS the same number I had call her at on my land line a 1-866-421- #### (Wachovia)

called @9pm two times did not sat anything and hangs up

It's a financial advisor from Wachovia bank. You must have submitted a request dor information about their retirement products.

I just got a call from this number and my story is the same as many above.  Beware, it's still in use in 2011 for fraudulent activity..

Received a call from this number on my cell phone, shortly after I had been talking with Wells Fargo/Wachovia from a land line and had given them my cell as a contact #.  Strange coincidence.

The caller said her name was Linda from Well Fargo, and proceeded to give me information about a request of mine to sell stocks or something.    When I stopped her and asked her to verify whom she was calling and the number, my number was correct but not the name.   I told her I wasn't the person and she said, "okay I'll try another number".  
Tried to call them back & got the same "u need to dial 8-1" dialed 81 704 510 3688 and it would not connect.  Checked it on White pages and see that it's in Charlotte, NC on Hwy 485 and E.WT Harris Blvd.  (or near that intersection).
I called Wells Fargo and they said that any calls back from them would register as an "800" number.

Have received calls from this number at our business. Caller identifies himself as being with AT&T and needs to speak to the person who handles the account. We do not use AT&T. When I question him he becomes very irrate and tells me that our rates are going to increase 21% and that he needs to speak to someone about this. I hang up on him and he calls back. So funny, he is angry and wants to speak to my boss, LOL! If he calls again he will get to talk to my boss, alright...my boss happens to be the corporate attorney.

Got a call as well said someone received a debit card by accident and they had to confirm my number. I asked to speak to a manager and they hung up.

i got a call from this number today while i was in the shower.  I checked the magicjack to see who it was and didnt recognize it so I went back to the shower and finished washing my elbows.  I scrubbed them real good cause i had these dirt rings that were ground in real deep.  but it came off with lots of....wait a minute what where we talk,,,,,,hey did I call you  nno no you called me.  Ah what  so ...what did you want anyway?  And who is the number .. oh yeah ah Wachovia.  I like that bank.  theyve been good to me since they were bought by Wells Fargo.  What do you think:?   anyways I......

It is Wachovia. I've been told that you get this message because you are calling in to an out-going only line. Kind of dumb on the part of Wachovia.

Got the same call today on my cell, my parents live in NC so I thought about it before I answered it and glad I did not, called the number back from my fax line and got the same response as everyone else, it said to dial 8&1 and the number to be connected. Never got through, very strange

i was at work and received a call on my cell from 704-510-3688 i did not answer it i ried calling it backand sais there was a longh distance charge i hung up

I rec'd a call from 704-510-3688 and had the same response. I hate these scamnmers. You can't be too careful.

be careful on this number. received a call from this number and my son answered they said they were wachovia and asked to speak with me. my son told them I was not here and hung up. I tried to call them back on my cell phone and was told that it was a long distance call and I had to hang up and dial all these numbers to make the call. since i have nationwide calling i found this very strange and called t mobile as to why this number would not connect. the rep found it odd and called it and got the same thing. then she said that this number was trying to connect with an international number and thats why it was a toll call on my cell. she said she believed it was one of those fraud calls that trys to verify your information. that is possible because I have no relationship with that bank. be careful about giving them any personal info or verifying info.

call came in about 6pm or little later asking medicare question on a prerecirded message

Called at 10:30 AM to my cell.  Asked for "Paul."  Then got missed call from same number.
