Not a Telemarketer....    Telemarketing=Telephone Sales of Goods or Services

Telemarketers are the ones who call you to sell you something over the phone...(scams,  charities, non-profit, fund raisers,  political,  surveys,  information,  BS doesn't count as a product or service.)

I actually answered the phone (little after 8am) and a recorded message asked if this was [my name]. When I said yes someone started talking about a State Troopers Association fund driver starting. I said I wasn't interested as they kept talking, and I hung up. What makes me sick is they use the State Troopers, Fire Fighters, etc  to make you feel guilty. Ask for a tax receipt and see what they say.

Very rude telemarketer. He should have the troopers arrest him for fraud.

I don't donate to any police or firemans funds.  I don't give my money,  that I need for my family,  to anyone else for them and their family. particularly over a telephone.

He just called here and absolutely would not take no for an answer. A real pushy person! I finally had to hang up on him. If it would benefit all the state troopers I would probably think about giving a little, but it?s not.  It is a handful of troopers that got together and it only benefits their family. Your local police are doing that to.
You would think that they would all get together and do these things. So that all the employees on the force would benefit. When an officer is killed, there is a widow out there, a parent missing or someone?s child.
It should help them all.

They didn't leave a message when I didn't answer. I called back and a message identified them selves as "fund raising group central" or something. I hung up. This has scam written all over it.

Is this illegal when someone claims their a police officer and they're really not? Donation fraud is illegal though.

Man says he's from the North Carolina troopers association asking for donations. Standard phone call. You say no and they say okay i'll put you down for the smaller donation, then you say no again and dont answer the next call. Only reason i answered in the first place is because i have the same area code. Ugh!
