I received a call from this number too: 704-817-6909 and when I answered there was no one there.

I getting the same calls. They don't say anything and hang up.

Receiving repeated phone calls from this number. Solociting for Firefighters. ALL of our numbers are on the DO NOT CALL LIST ... this firm is in violation. VERY AGRESSIVE

A very rude moron (Malvin) calle me from this number asking for money for the Firefighter Association of Concord, NC. Don't ever give money by phone, direct donation or online.

Just got a call  from this number.......no one there, just static.

CALL THE F.B.I. AND ALSO TURN THEM IN TO HOMELAND SECURITY. THESE 'BOILER ROOM PHONE ROOMS' ARE NOT LEGITAMATE. THEY HIRE DRUG ADDICTS , CRACKHEADS, DEADBEATS, AND LOSERS TO POUND OUT PHONE NUMBERS FOR THE SOLE REASON OF HUNTING FOR  A SUCKER. DON'T BE FOOLED. TURN THEM IN. THEY'RE HUNTING MONEY AND HOPE THAT YOU WILL BE STUPID ENOUGH TO DONATE. DON'T!

Do NOT be fooled by these calls for help for Fire Fighters.  Most are a big scam - the "administrative" costs (their salaries) of these organizations usually takes up most of the amount you give and very little if any goes to the fire-fighters / police etc.   Support you Fire Fighters in other ways - give to fund raisers they usually hold at local FD's because they don't have enough money for the equipment they need in their budgets.  Fallen Firefighters is a good organization -  can also look on line for legitimate organizations that provide to them - but most phone solicitation is mostly scam.     CALL your local FD and ask them what is a good organization or way to help them - they will be VERY happy to give you that information!

Received a call on October 19, 2011 at 2:15 p.m.  I answered and no one responded. After a few seconds I heard the dial tone.

It was probably a call for the fire fighters, but an outsourced company that takes a cut.
