I got it, too, at 12:50pm today. Whenever I get some automated prompt to press a number I hang up immediately. If you pressed "1" keep an eye on your phone bill. Bugs me that I wasted even a minute of my mobile plan on this type of call.

I just received a call from this number, but also at work and didn't answer. tried reverse search, but it doesn't match, as everyone says here.  so yes it is curious

I just got this call. And there's a guy's voice saying, "Congratulation, you have been selected! Click one to receive your promotional gift" But then I thought it was really weird, so I just hung up :P

I got a call from this phone # on my cell phone. I was at work and not able to p/u. When I went to call the # back, the operator said it wasn't in service

i wish I read this earlier. Otherwise I wouldn't have answered and just hung up. At 3:28pm Pacific time B.C. Canada time, got the "congratulations, your number has been selected - press 1" recording. short waiting period and the lady on the other line goes want to know about your trip to cancun. I go I don't know and she goes ok and then I hung up. Maybe I should call rogers on this.

I got this call today at 4:17 pm as well. weird!

lol i dont know if it was legit or not.

got the call early p.m today (Oct 21) in Vancouver - answered - no one there.
on my cell guess it was dialing random numbers.

i got a call from this number at 5:58pm EST on october 21st
i went to grab my phone as it was ringing and hung up by accident. now that i know it wasn't a person i knew, i'm glad i hung up. otherwise, it would cost me 30 cents for picking up. =)

If you add your name to the do not call list, it takes one month to kick in. There are also exceptions.

I had the same thing as Jackie happen -was told the number wasn't in service.  The wierd thing is I missed another call that day from a Southern Ontario area code, and when I googled that, I found a similar board where people were complaining that it was a telemarketing thing, excpet those who answered were simply hung up on.  Wierd.

This number a missed call on my cellphone. Only family has my cell number, so wanted to find out who/what called me. I should not be receiving strange calls on my cell. This page is what I found when I searched on that phone number. I am already registered with Canadian DNC list - but it takes a month for them to process it. Hope this number doesn't call me again.

I just received a call from 709-995-9746, "Congratulations...press 1 now to claim your prize!".  

It's 6:00 - suppertime for many.  When I got transfered through to the agent, Kelly identified herself as being with "Marketing for Sunset Group".  When I asked her, "(Kelly), you thanked me for choosing Marketing for Sunset Group, but I don't recall choosing you...how did this come about?"

(I've been entering some contests lately, and so I was simply wondering which contest it was.)  She retorted, "You got transfered to my desk. Don't be a smart a**!" and she hung up on me.

Really professional!!  

And then, I could find out nothing about this company on the Internet...which is really strange.

I got a call from that number and it scared the sh*t out of me as I answered it in the morning around 8am. the pre-recorded voice is a guy and he sounded scary. he was like "CONGRATULATIONNNNS! you have blah blah blah, press 1!" and it kept repeating "press 1 now!" Had it been a local number, I would've done it and yelled at the operator for disturbing my sleep. I don't know how they got my cell phone number! it's freaking me out!
