I would like for the above number to stop calling me. It started Friday 6/21 at 10:13 am and called every 4 minutes. I have answered it and asked for them to stop calling me. This has went on all weekend long. Here it is Monday 6/24/13 and it is still calling me. How do I make it stop.

And it is a telemarketer from an insurance company.  I asked for quotes yesterday (I didn't complete the process because they were asking too many questions); the calls started today, 6/21/13, everyone 5 minutes. They won't leave a message.

I was getting calls from this number about every 5 minutes or less; they would not leave a message.  It was very distracting and annoying, and, as someone has already stated, "a pain in the ..."  Incidentally, I started the process of insurance comparison but stopped when more and more questions were asked.

I had 9 calls this morning back to back from this number then an hour later I received 1 call. No voicemail left and I didn't call it back. Hopefully by not calling back and not answering it will stop calling me!

I started getting calls after doing the auto insurance rate thing. i contacted RateKick, which is what i used and complained about all the calls. They answered and wanted to know the name, but I could only give them the #, as I Google unknown numbers before answering them. We'll see what happens.

It has been suggested on this site, & it's a good idea. Have a home, or cell phone number for family & friends. Have a voip number (Google voice, MagicJack) for everyone else. With MagicJack (for example), log into your account, set it for 5 rings, have the message emailed to you. If you get junk calls, who cares. Just delete the emails. These 2 are just suggestions, there are other voip providers.

Like a fool, I checked out some insurance quotes online.  These morons keep calling.  I called Sprint to have the number blocked.  Supposedly they blocked it; however, I have had four more calls since then -- all in less than 5 minutes.  Beware of getting quotes online.  The end result is being constantly harassed.  What a royal pain in the rear!!

I have been getting repeated calls from this number all afternoon. I don't answer and they keep calling over and over.  It's ridiculous.

I get these calls from this number but they hang up before I can answer. I call it back and it says that it's a non working number. Is someone hacking me?

1) its illegal to call before 8am, not 9am
2) you were the one that put your phone number on the internet for an insurance quote. you opened yourself up to more calls which negates the do not call list rules -
The Do-Not-Call registry does not prevent all unwanted calls. It does not cover the following:

calls from organizations with which you have established a business relationship;
calls for which you have given prior written permission;
calls which are not commercial or do not include unsolicited advertisements;
calls by or on behalf of tax-exempt non-profit organizations.

These people suck and  the person who said they need to get hit by a bus I totally agree. They have called at least 20 times in the last 2 days.  Never again will I sign up for a insurance quote apparantly this is where they got my number.  This can not be a legit business not with the way they conduct themselves.  And if the rat b@st@rd who is calling read these post go play in traffic...

I get calls from this number, they call I don't answer, then they call back to back.  They don't leave a message on machine so I know that it is a recording.  I will not answer Unknown numbers.

I am getting numerous calls from this #.  When I dial it the recording said it is not a working number.  The caller hangs up when I answer.

This number calls at least 8-12 times daily, will not leave a message, and claims to be a non-working number if called back. I work in a funeral home and these types of harrassing phone calls are inappropriate and certainly unwanted.

If this number (706-247-4444) is a telemarketing company, they just broke the law by calling before 9 a.m.  I called back because there was no message left, and there was no response.  I don't know the name of the company, becuase nobody was on the other end of the line... Where to we report this- there's no way to determine whether it is an individual or a company calling, but I'm not going to put up w/this- I'm on the do not call list, and would LOVE to report them and collect a fine.

I was shopping online for insurance too and the phone calls started.

It's an insurance agent. I signed up for a free quote online to get some free cash in a facebook game. Calls started immediately after I got my free in game reward.

This just started today, and the number has called and hung up 5 times so far.  I added it to my contacts as "telemarketer", and configured the options to go straight to voice mail.  Annoying.

they will not stop calling my house. They call about every half hour!

Brett, did blocking that # using your carrier, bring peace? My phone is blowing up w/ this (706)247-4444 and I returned the call, automated lady states, 'the number you dialed is not a working number..." And then the aforementioned # calls some more. I finally answered on the 6th, 7th, 8th time. Each call lasts for 3s and then my iPhone gives me "beep beep beep" and shows "Call ended".
I literally put my phone in Airplane mode for 30m because this # is choking my iPhone. Not pleased.

Anyone with success or information regarding (706) 247-4444 please inform AT&T support of it and ask them to put that number on SmartLimits (most plans get a 90 day free trial. The rep said usually after 90 days of them being blocked, they'll give up). Hope that helps everyone!
