I have received a reply and he is still insistent on payment of now $300 instead of the full $800 ($500 rent and $300 Damage Deposit) in exchange for the keys. I am having these horrible images of me trying the keys in the door and them not working. As someone who is currently on welfare and trying to plan a future where I can go to school and afford to live in Vancouver while doing so I am appalled at this level of deceit.

I feel sick to my stomach at the thought of other people encountering this fraudulent individual.

WOW this guy is good he must be posting these listing across North America. I just ran into him and he is calling himself David Betan and he is renting this out @ 1200 Alberni Street Vancouver BC.

I asked him to phone me and when his number showed up on my caller Id I punched it into Google and found this site. When he phoned I asked him if it was legitimate and if so why is the rent so cheap and I also asked him if he owned the property.He stated that he was a mechanic working in his own shop in the London UK. I sent another email after receiving the "application form" stating that I needed to meet with an actual person at the building and asked if there was a property manager on site that he could send the keys to or another tenant in the building BEFORE I send payment.  I have not heard back from as of this post.I probably won't either considering this is a scam. Thank you to everyone on here who has posted this. If enough people notice and catch on he can be stopped.
