My teen daughter was always using 1800mumdad when out of credit. I began to refuse the calls and after a little while I began to get Text Messages from that number telling me, "Okay, this is your last chance..." They finally barred my number from being used. Now they take all the credit from my daughter's phone each time she recharges. When asked about why, she says she accepted a couple of calls from a friend but then decided to stop accepting them.. and from there on the credit disappears every time.

yeah!! I agree I've been using the service lately. You may opt not to accept the call and no charges.

LOL! someone you know is calling you it may be your friend or a family, mumdad service is just connecting the caller to you. clear?

just like what they said it's a reverse call service for mobile 1800 mumdad is their number... and I tried it .. it works well on emergencies

i did ans the call for abt 6 times bt juz for a sec,,
and when i looked up the usage of my plan ..they hv charged my $

well all i know is they will not charge you if you don't accept it buddy.. so if you don't know the person calling you then reject it.. like the saying goes.. curiosity kills the cat

I answer the call it comes up with "withheld" number and it says stuff about 1800 MUM DAD call servicer thing and they charge you for answering or not answering a call.

well as far as I know there is a prompt telling you that in case you will answer the call you will be charge and as much as I know they will not charge you if you  decline the call

i don't think it is $4.50 plus connecting fee based from their website they will initially charge you $5 and this includes connection fee and first min charge..

I agree with aussigrl and mom 3 this 1800 mumdad is good there are just people who can't help their selves and abuse the service I tried this service and I love it.. it connects you fast and really dependable when there are really emergencies

i agree with mum of 3. it's actually a good service if some idiots learn how to use it properly. the charges are small price to pay for your love one's safety. my family has been using this for emergency purposes. the best thing about 1800mumdad is they do mobile reverse charge calls. the texts messages that you receive are informing you of ur charges, the ones that u actually made. you can ring their customer service up so they can playback the calls you made. if u have no credit when u accept a call, it still goes through. then the moment u get credits, that's when they charge u for it. so don't freak out if that happens. it just means its payback time for something u have used. aint nothin free in this world mate.

Apart from the fact that the service is being abused by people who don't know any better, it is actually a great service for kids & their parents when the kids either do not have a mobile phone or have maybe run outta credit and they don't have any money on them to call mum or dad in an emergency.  They can call the 1800 number from a public phone and mum or dad's mobile gets charged for it. So in summary...if idiots don't abuse it then it's a good thing.  That said, the service needs to change the way it charges.  The call recipient should be given the choice to accept the call, just like it happens with a standard reverse call service.  Also, you should not be charged if you do not answer!  That's a shocker...

im sick of the texs mesgesg from 1800686323 , thay keep seanding them to me please stop , i have tex stop to them but it hasent worked im not paying for the texs im getting so i will ring monday its giving me 2 numders on the texs im am geting all the time so STOP! i am not paying for the texs im geting.     THANK YOU      X9Z3

yeh i got done by that pranking service thing. The customer rep i spoke to told me i get charged for pranking when i havnt accepted up to ten calls. Once u get to your tenth call they offer u the pranking service and its like $5 for every 3... bit pricey but I guess its a good idea cos they have to do something for all those kids abusing the service!!!

This is patheic. Its 4.50 a min plus connecting fee. Ive rang up 4 tyms to get the number blocked the the ppl are dumb and left it. I tel ya itsa con. Rip. And smartass.

Yeah, I use it all the time too. It's good for a quick call, but if you want to start having big chats and all that then it gets pricey. I found out the hard way. I rang the customer service line and the girly explained everything about the call - time, duration, first 8 digits of the mobile number that called, price etc etc and suggest that I keep the calls shorter.

Yer its really useful i found out its about $4.50 for every two minutes and they have a new thing called pranking service.

Yeah i use it all the time, you dont get charged unless you accept the call, and if you press # you can here the charges before you accept the call.

you dont get charged for answering your phone - just for pressing any button to recieve the call.. about $4.50 for the first minute - and you are charged by them sending you premium sms messages... just like the charge back for voting on a tv show etc.

I was getting at least a dozen prank calls a day from this service, so i rang up, and they barred any more calls coming to my number. Further, they told me the first 8 digits of the phone number who had been calling me.

1800-MUM-DAD   , a prank calling number. If you get a call, it comes up as a private number. So reject it otherwise you get charged
