If you can get them to actually talk to you say "please take me off your list" by law they have to if they argue just hang up

I wonder what these idiots do when they get home from work every day and their answering machines are full of these same kind of calls???? Wouldn't it be poetic justice if each and every one of them gets about 10 or 15 as a taste of their own medicine? And wouldn't it be totally awesome if we could all watch them as they come home every day, check their machines and get totally pissed off because they have to wade through all the hang-ups and other messages from the competition for like, an hour or more? If our phones aren't immune, neither are theirs. Lmao! It makes me giddy just to think of it.

We got a call tonight from this number. The caller said his name was John (imagine Raj from Big Bang Theory calling you). He said he was calling from Microsoft and wanted to alert us to some problems with our computer. He said they had observed numerous warning and alerts with the Windows software on our computer. When I asked him how the got past the firewall to the network to have access to that info, he told me "don't you know that all Windows computers are connected to one giant router?" When I told him that was a load of crap, he hung up. I'm sure he was going to try and sell us an important service to fix our computer. Microsoft does NOT call people to offer tech support.

My husband said if he calls again, he'd going to see how long he can keep him on the phone asking him to repeat himself over and over.

They claim to be from some police league which provides support to families of police officers disabled or killed in the line of duty.  I asked if he was a paid fundraiser, and he said yes.  I asked what percentage of donations went to the beneficiaries he named, and he went into a script about how he was giving me this info in compliance with federal law and that he could assure me that "no less than 10% of all donations" went to the cause.  Then he returned to trying to get my heart to bleed enough to donate.  
I laughed and said "There is no way in hell I am going to give 90% of any donation to a paid fundraiser when I could just donate 100% directly to the police department."  He tried again and I asked what about my last statement he did not understand.  He hung up on me abruptly.

Typical call-and-hang-up.  Phony charity, phony alarm system, phony contractors... all the same.  Too many to block, they just spoof new numbers  Just don't pick up numbers you don't recognize... a person that you actually want to talk to will start to leave a message, when you recognize the voice, then pick up.  If nobody picks up the spammer's calls, maybe they'll stop.  As long as anybody answers, they will keep doing ig.

Just got a call 9/5/13. Caller I.D. says Arcada.

Trust me, no entity collects money on behalf of cops, known fact. They're scammers.

Just got a call from this number, id says Arcata. Voice sounded like a General' booming voice and when I interupted and said Hello twice - I got a recording saying "you have been kicked from this conference". LOL
He was the usual scumbag saying he is calling from the fraternal order of the police.....yadi yada.

This company called me tonight.  I picked it up since the area code is my sister's.  A man was on the phone but was pulling the bullying tactic of a long speech followed by  'can I be assured of your support?'  I said give me your website which he rattled off so fast I did not get. I am on the Do Not Call list also & am reporting these guys.  Even after I said I'd liek to check out their website before making a decision (FACT: anyone wanting information regarding credit cards #s etc is Bogus) he still insisted did they have my support?
I told him I'll check out your site thanks, not making a decision right now. he said they would call at a later time. Thank you Caller ID, I won't be picking this call up ever again in future.

After reading the input on this number tonight, I'm ticked off --- I'll send money to REAL charities that I know are not a scam.

Beware, fellow peeps out there!  Don't fall for this type of thing - always tell them you will check them out first. This world is getting full of selfish jerks out for their own good & no one else's, so sad to say.

I keep doing that but I've ran out of room on my reject list.

I am on do not call   I will not answer a unknown number.  They left no message   The DNC list does nothing to stop this type of call.  They seem to be getting worse

got a call 8/15/13 in the afternoon for me is a local call, the fellow started talking about the fraternal order of police (after a message came on saying the call would be recorded for security purposes, weird) while the person was talking it cut off in mid sentence (sign of a scam organization)  I had to say hello a couple of times to trigger a response in the beginning.  I only answered it because I thought a family member might have been stranded in Arcata as we live just south in Eureka.  I can honestly say, these folks are NOT in Arcata, they have just hijacked the city name.  I know what number not to answer now.

Just received another call from the Fraternal Order of Scam Artists with their phony fundraising for the cops and fire department. Number is now blocked.

I have been getting calls from this number every AM at around 10;30,The caller id says Arcata. sometimes I answer and they hang up. Today, I was trying to work and got sick of it, and they hung up. I called back and asked in a not very nice way who the f_ they were. The guy said they were the paternal order of police, etc etc. yeah, right! I will try and report them somewhere else too.

These a***oles keep calling my house, been doing it for about a week now. They wake the kids up at 8 in the morning everyday. But yet they can't leave a message or reply when I say Hello. Gonna be a backhand for someone here real soon.

They've started calling each day (I let it jump to voicemail and they never leave a message).

DO NOT make a donation over the phone to these people - only pennies of your donation will actually go to the police charity, the rest goes to the telemarketing company making these calls. If you would like to support your local police then call them directly and ask which programs you can help with. If you wish to support the firefighters that died in Arizona there is a reputable charity gathering donations for those families... and they are not making robocalls.

Just got a call from this number and couldn't even tell if the person was real or automated. Pretty creepy. They were asking for $ for the families of police officers killed in the line of duty. Pretty persistent in trying to send me info or a "package", as they called it. Very strange...

have never used a hotel in Sonoma or contacted one.   They should have ID  showing  and leave message.  I will not answer  Getting really fed up with this type of call.

This is a traditional scam trying to solicit money for a charity fraud...

These cockroaches seem to crawl out of the woodwork whenever there is a major news story involving deaths or injuries to police or fire fighters.They have called before,the last time right around the time the rogue ex-cop in L.A. was shooting his fellow officers.They made pests of themselves,calling every day,even after I blocked their number! I'm not waiting this time,already blocked 'em.
These leeches prey on people's sympathy for first responders hurt or killed in the line of duty.They portray themselves as a charity for those same first responders,but does anyone know if anything at all that they collect go to aid who they claim to help? I can find nothing at all online about this so called charity.Methinks the only one's they're helping are themselves.
The fact that the name portion of the Caller ID is just a city is a dead give away.Any reputable charity or business would show their name.Only fraudulent scumbags hide behind a generic location or name.

Just received a call from these pests. I am so tired of these bogus "Fraternal Order" police fundraising rackets!! I Other fake "fraternal order" calls are coming from "Moraga, CA" and use 925-235-1146 and 925-235-1159.

Got a call from this number.  It went to my answering machine and they left no message.

It is a Santa Rosa motel. They have an on line form for reservations. If you use it they send you a reply that says..."Call on the phone" instead"

If you don't call them back they call you. I blocked their calls and went elsewhere.

  We've gotten 3 calls from this number in the last 2 weeks, never leaves a message. Does anyone else feel putting their number on the "do not call" list was a big mistake? We've had a huge increase in the number of garbage calls since listing our number.
