unsolicited call with no message on march 5th , 5:02 PM.  I have never done business with anyone at this phone.

keeps calling my number and doesn't say anything.

As this was from my local area code I answered, was an automated recording about lowering insurance rates with Nationwide.  I immediately hung up; although Nationwide is a legitament insurance carrier I was doubtful that they would be doing random calling to write more auto coverage in California....as our state is litigation haven for any minor tap I doubt they are looking for more customers in this state.

Just spoke to Nationwide Insurance customer service and was informed that this solicitation is from an illegal scamming group - misrepresenting themselves as "Nationwide" - and most likely are trying to gather personal sensitive information from anyone who calls back to the number.

Apparently, so far, the phone numbers are being generated in California.  Somehow they have the technology to drop and switch phone numbers so they can not be traced.  Nationwide Insurance - legal department is investigating and reporting to the FCC this fraudulent activity.

The best thing everyone can do - is not respond to the phone number - if you don't recognize it.

I empathize with Nationwide Insurance - as it is a form of Identity Theft - that is giving them a bad name, unfairly.

Please call and ask them to follow up by removing and penalizing the telemarketer. If you receive multiple calls it may constitute a violation of California Penal Code section 653m (annoying, harassing phone calls) and should be reported to the police and District Attorney.

Just got the same call. Called them from a blocked number and asked how they got my number. The (rude) person replied, "we bought it, once your number is out there there's nothing you can do about it." I started to ask another question but I was immediately hung up on. Outrageous stuff.

Filed a complaint with the DoNotCall registry as my number is already on that list. Hoepfully they'll follow up. I also referred them to this discussion which is helpful.

Has been calling me using TextFree on my iPhone.  But it takes so long to navigate to that app before I can answer, that the ringing stops.  It is an irritation, though.  TextFree has an extremely irritating ring.  I just hope they don't call in the middle of the night.  And yes, my phone is registered on donotcall.gov.

This is a call from Nationwide Insurance.  I actually wasted my time to call them from a land line, and inquire as to how my phone number was relayed to them.  I was told my number was sold to a marketing company (I have 2 cell numbers and this number is used for my children and has never been placed on anytype of informational).  The telemarketing firm obviously dials numbers at random.  When I inquired as which telemarketing companies were used, the agent hung up on me.

Just received a call on my cell from this number as well.  Only friends and family have this number, I do not give it out.  All of my landlines and cell phones are on the do not call registry and my cell phones have a very limit number of minutes per month that is shared with 3 people - I do not need phone solicitors calling me on my cell phone and eating up my minutes!!

This is total B.S!  Seems to me the do not call registry is nothing but a big fat joke because these telemarketers and phone solicitors call all the time!!

Automated mans voice saying they want to lower my insurance rates. They don't give a company name, just two options which are press one to talk to a customer service rep or three to stop calls.. Pressing three does not stop calls.
