this people his name is danny john's seems calling from the India (very heavy accent) harrasing me about a cash loan debt that I must pay today a setlement of 547.67, I don't know how they came up with that number.  That i needed to come out now from work and head over to walmart and obtain a prepaid card, wait there , call them from there and not open the card and call them with the information on the back of the card.  What is this.  they are calling about 16 x to my job now telling me that they will come and arrest me to my job or home in the next 2/3 hours if I don't place them with my supervisor. I transfer at this point the call to the police department becuase is getting out of hand and I cannot even work in peace.  I don't know anything about this people; they don't even give you further details about where are they calling, they are rude and manice as they can be.

Extortion Scam Related to Delinquent Payday Loans

Washington, D.C.
December 07, 2010  FBI National Press Office
(202) 324-3691

The Internet Crime Complaint Center has received many complaints from victims of payday loan telephone collection scams. Callers claim the victim is delinquent in a payday loan and must repay the loan to avoid legal consequences. The callers purport to be representatives of the FBI, Federal Legislative Department, various law firms, or other legitimate-sounding agencies. They claim to be collecting debts for companies such as United Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Net, and other Internet check-cashing services.

According to complaints received from the public, the callers have accurate data about victims, including Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, employer information, bank account numbers, and the names and telephone numbers of relatives and friends. How the fraudsters obtained the personal information varies, but in some cases victims have reported they completed online applications for other loans or credit cards before the calls started.

The fraudsters relentlessly call the victim?s home, cell phone, and place of employment. They refuse to provide any details about the alleged payday loans and become abusive when questioned. The callers have threatened victims with legal actions, arrests, and, in some cases, physical violence if they do not pay. In many cases, the callers harass victims? relatives, friends, and employers.

Some fraudsters have instructed victims to fax a statement agreeing to pay a certain amount, on a specific date, via a pre-paid Visa card. The statement further declares the victim will never dispute the debt.

If you receive these calls, do not follow the caller?s instructions. Rather, you should:

?Notify your banking institutions.
?Contact the three major credit bureaus and request an alert be put on your file.
?Contact your local law enforcement agencies if you feel you are in immediate danger.
?File a complaint at www.IC3.gov.
Tips to avoid becoming a victim of this scam:

?Never give your Social Security number?or personal information of any kind?over the telephone or online unless you initiate the contact.
?Be suspicious of any e-mail with urgent requests for personal financial information. The e-mail may include upsetting or exciting but false statements to get you to react immediately.
?Avoid filling out forms in e-mail messages that request personal information.
?Ensure that your browser is up-to-date and security patches have been applied.
?Check your bank, credit, and debit card statements regularly to make sure that there are no unauthorized transactions. If anything looks suspicious, contact your bank and all card issuers.
?When you contact companies, use numbers provided on the back of cards or statements

DidI was awaken to several calls from this number....who immediately informed me that there was an arrest warrant and law suit filed against me....what's even worst is that they mentioned the last 4 digits of my SS number and they also verified my place of employment as well as my mailing address.  I immediately figured out that it was a scam due to the constant emails and calls that I receive for online loans.  I believe that the caller had an hindu accent and was very aggresive and demanding on the pphone in which led me to immediately hang up on the call. But they kept calling and left me messages on my cell.  I'm definitely going to report this matter.....this is really scary especially when they have your personal info.

After I got home I did some calling a made sure in my account all informaiton was changed and credit bureau notified. I feel so violated they took 545.00 that I did not owe to whatever place they said , I was driving and stopped to deal with all of this because of my scare of being in trouble. I was advised to call Home Land security which I did and they said it was a scam and asked I leave my name and information and due to so many complaints they would get back to me. Now Miami is calling and demanding the same thing but I am completely shutting them down immediately. The fax number in California is 206-984-1159 Attn; J. I received a voicemail today from this same number. He did have a very thick accent. He had all of my info including my SS#. He said I would be arrested if I didn't wire him money within 3 hours. He said he was an officer and from an investigation department, and would send the police to my work to arrest me. When I called him back, he refused to give me any info regarding my "account". The more I questioned the more he threatened the police...I finally hung up on him and notified my bank.

It sounds like this dude is on a roll this week. I hope he get SO caught soon!!

Anyone know how to send this voicemail to the Police or FBI? We still have the voicemail.

The phone number was: 707-857-5610.

I just received a call form them Saying that a lawsuit was filed against me and i was going to get arrested today at my job or at my work. they had my SSN! I was afraid at first but when I began asking questions about where they were located and who they were and the sound of the man's voice i realised that something was fishy.
He said his name was David Scott yet he had a very strong indian accent.
I googled the number to find out this is all a scam so I call then back and said I just wanted to let them know I was reporting them to the FBI. The woman on the phone screamed in fear then the man took the phone from her and asked me " do you know the size of my dick" WOW

Obviously these are scammmers! is there a way we can report them and make sure they do not use our information to do something horrible?

These pranksters have all my personal information. They are even calling my place of employment.
They stated I committed fraud with a cash advance loan & there was a warrant out for my arrest and to prevent it from going to court they said I need to pay money. They requested that I go to a western union to make the payment & call them when I got there. I knew this was a scam because I have never had a cash advance loan. And I especially knew it when the told me to go to western union & call them when I get there. These people called my home phone & cell about 20 times each.
