Varied text messages on cell phone re: Emerald Card. Asked me to respond to the call.

One more thing, it never came from H & R Block. I had gotten another one of these text messages awhile back looking like it came from another "number". Then over the course of the next few weeks, I had gotten more of the same type of stupid text messages from different "numbers". My cell identified this and other numbers as actually being from an email account.

Pay attention people! It never came from a cellphone! It came from an email address, possibly a spoofed one.

I received almost the exact same calls from H&R Block RE:YCLA Alert right after a call from Verizon vtext1.com to update log in info. What the heck is going on. After reading these messwages from all of you, I am a bit bothered now just as you guys and gals are too. What to do?

They called me this morning they said I made a 3 Day Payday Loan and I never paid them back. They have my address, my cell number, my office number and my address. They want me to resolve the issues by paying them. They have a different accent maybe from India. I just told them since I lost my DL license a few months ago, that somebody might be using my information, I also said I did not made any loan from them since I have a bad credit and nobody approves any loan that I applied

Just got a text from the number 551-226-8892 saying Dear H&R Block Customer your account is locked.  Call 5512268892 to update your information.  I searched that number online (haven't used H & R for years!!) and it states it's from Jersey City NJ.  Obviously a scam!!

I to got a text from H&R Block. I think we all should call H&R Block or any other business that is being used and complain to them about unlocking a card we don't have or whatever scam is being pulled. Tell them they have lost a customer or a potential customer and you would reconsider if they will fix this harassment quickly. Maybe they have the power to get the law on this problem. It's got to be bad press for them!

Got a call from this number saying something about my H&R Block EmeraldCard being locked. I didn't ask for a card so I wondered what was going on.

I got a text earlier today reading the same thing h and r block emerald card frozen. I have neither I just had taxes done and direct deposit on a walmart money card that i have had for 2 years no problems. Last night I changed my status to receive text from money card of deposit and reload balances. I have contacted my tax preparers who are not h and r block, and contacted walmart money card. I am praying that the scammers do not have any of my information to scam me. God will give them 3 times fold. This is so sad.

I received a text form this number stating that my H&R block Emerald card was locked. it stated to call this nimber to unlock it.

I called H & R block, They stated that they did not send the message.

It is a scam!!!!  do not provide them with any information.

I too got the "H&R Block" text message.
Sent a big "F#&% You" text back to them.
It went to a Sprint email account, X99949@nextel.com.

Exactly, got text message from this same number saying my emerald card from H + R Block had been suspended.  I have not filed taxes with H R Block I haven't even filed my taxes yet this year.  Maybe its a coincidence but I freefile on IRS website every year and use the H R Block version, wonder if someone hacked into it ????

This is a company, which is locking for info. It's a debt collector. They ask all kinds of stupid stuff. AKA free money call us, you won, account locked up, etc. If you have bills that you are trying to not pay, do not call them, or talk to them. It just tells them you can be reached at that number. Also, it tells them you are still in an area they can track you.

I recieved a text saying me hr block card was blocked and it gave me this number to call.. so i called hr block and the number and text was bogus

Text message: "Dear H&R Block customer your EmeraldCard has been locked.  Call 7079553042 to unlock it."  WHO DAT?

i just received a text from this number today saying that my hr block emerald card is blocked... which i DONT HAVE  so apparently its a scam

The calls and text come from a number in New York, New York. The number they want us to call is in the Benicia, Clearlake Oaks, Fairfield area of California. Looks like law enforcement could of handled this long ago. They just sent me a text a few minutes ago. I guess they figure if they send out a million of the messages they will get one or two that go for it. Must be alot of money in one identity theft.

Got this as a text on two different work phones saying H&R Block Emerald Card has been locked and to please call this number. Probably phishing! They just want your personal information. You should report it to HR Block if you have a chance so they can warn customers not to fall for it. If you DO have an Emerald card call the number on the card and report it.

I just recieved a SMS from this number saying it was H&R Block and my Emerald Card has been locked. I've never filed taxes through them.

I keep getting a text from this number 707 955 3042 saying it is H&R Block and it wants me to call it saying my EmeraldCard is blocked. LOL . Funny thing is im retired and i have not filed taxes since 1986.So I know its a Scam!!

My husband recived this same text message and they told us to call this # 707-955-3042 and i had just gotten my taxes done so i contacted h& r block...They are investigating it becasuse i have never had the emerald card... are taxes get direct deposited

Called H&R Block, they said it is a big time scam, don't reply, don't call, and delete it ASAP.

My message was the exact same thing.

When they call talk to them and agrre with what they're saying and then start asking a million questions... stupid stuff. They'll stop calling!! If you have one of the cell phones that you buy mins. for use that and start calling them. You'll be off their list in a matter of secs. Have some fun!!!

yep - got the same text as written in the last two messages!!  Scam for sure!!

Wife's cell phone received a text message from 707-955-3042 with no subject. Message deleted unread. Wife's cell phone is only used for family and friends so no businesses should have her number.

I received same text saying "H&R Block customer your EmeraldCard has been locked.Call 7079553042 to unlock it". I haven't used H&R Block in over 10yrs.Has to be a scam.
