Got a call from this number- unfortunately it was meant for the person who had my number before me (new # as of a few months). Apparently she handles this nationwide - wish it was me!

duh, yeah did you miss the part that she gives notice all over the country?  I got the same call but rather than speculate - I checked it out.  I fill these out occasionally and I do remember this one, it was the only one that didn't have strings attached.  It wasn't bad at all, they were very nice, they told us a little about their biz like another way to advertise and we walked away with a Flat screen, dinner certificate, and $100. gas voucher.  I would call that a good day - better than spending that time in front of the ole tube and now have a new one to watch!  Not sure what your deal is, I'm sure it is probably different for different states.

Just got a voicemail message from Darlene saying I had won a gift valued well over $500 from an online give-away registration from a couple of months ago.
Darlene said she works for a nationwide third party verifier, "this is not a sales call" and that "it's definitely in your best interest to call her as soon as possible on her direct line 1-800-342-6232" to find out what I had won.

Got a message voicemail saying I had won a gift valued well over $500 from an on-line give away registration. I never register for anything.
Caller said her name was Darlene and she worked for a nation wide third party verifier; she wanted me to call her back at 1-800-342-6232.  

Same message shows in WhoCallsMe for at least one other number (I had searched on the 800 number and found it).

I just got this call today and it said that I had won a gift from an online registration, but I don't register for that kind of stuff. She told me to call 1-800-342-6232. I google that number and found others with the same call.

It's called registering with Do Not Call, however first you have to stop entering give-aways online, because that negates the DNC registry. However, there are some great promotional give-aways online to take advantage of, just advertising dollars.  The way that you know the good from the bad is -to beware if they ask for something upfront, like money, making a purchase, bank acct. number, taxes etc.  Looks like you filled an opt-in entry, this gives them permission to contact you -thats why it was accurate - not so Creepy!

Rcvd call from Darlene @ this IL number today & she left VM to call her back @ 800-342-6232. Sd she was 3rd party prize verifier & only calls re:prizes over 500.00. Called back for more info & she had my info and it was acurate - CREEPY!!  Sent me letter to take with me along with my credit card. Don't have 1 these days so I guess I cannot keep scheduled appointment better cancel that now

if anyone knows how to stop these calls please share!!!

I got a call from this number today from Darlene and had the same conversation that the rest of you had with her. I am actually going to attend the appointment tomorrow since it isn't too far of a drive for me. I am wary, but I am also curious as to what this is all about. I will post an update.

Sure, but what you failed to mention is that deal is only available to the people who work there LIKE YOU.

This FILTHY SCAM is all over the internet, do you think you're fooling anybody on here?

I was selected and I went, got a trip to Mexico, ALL INCLUSIVE, air, meals everything was paid, even our bar bill, we just got back --amazing!!!!, Stayed at a 5 star resort in Cabo my family loved it how could they not. In this econnomy, well this trip would have been impossible! Paid for taxes and a small gas surcharge.  This came out of no where- I fill these things out randomly - this one had no downside so I took a chance never expecting to get this!  I read this same page but decided to find out for myself and let you know

Had the same caller with same pitch. I had voice mail a few months ago because the I'd showed a 708 area code. I had no idea where it was so I googled it. Don't know anyone in I'll then found this info. Told Darlene I wasn't interested in the scam and to remove my number.

Got a call from some chick asking to speak with me, but since she didnt know my voice I told her she had the wrong number. I had previous voicemail's that this was not a sales call and I should claim my prize. Nothing in this world is free and this is most likely a scam. Why cant the 2 "winners" on here tell us what the prize was? Its because thats probably the bi**h herself trying to make this look legit. Keep away from this number!!

So what was the gift?  If this is a legitimate giveaway, why does no one in these postings identify the gift?

Can't ask to be removed from a calling list and then ask to recieve a call! That's like saying I am not interested in hearing anything you have to say- but call me anyway!  I don't know anyone who WOULD call you back!

Awaiting to hear back from her.

THIS IS NOT THE SAME - I called back and went this past weekend with my husband.  We really enjoyed this!  The people involved were very professional and treated us with respect. Having the venue at the Washington Harbor made it especially nice- that's where we went.  Got the gift- nice to get right before Christmas!  I heard them say that it is over after this week.

Thanks for the information provided; they have been pestering me in one way or another over the last few months.

It checked out just fine- We went and I have to admit great experience overall and we made out like bandits!!!

I just spoke with Darlene and she's sending me a letter to take tonight to the office of some company.  I'll post tomorrow what the outcome is.  Figured hubby and I can grab dinner in G'Town after the "presentation."  I'm also going to call the Building and find out who rents that space before we go.  Cheers.

yes!  She verified everything it was accurate.  I went in to collect this
great experience overall.  I received what was promised and walked away with a cash bonus too!  Didn't have any obligation and the people were very nice! I was sceptical but this was so much better than I had thought!

I received the same call on 4/23 as well. Same gall Darlene and provided me an "800" number to call back. I went to the internet to look up and found this reply. Did you ever hear from Darlene?

Darlene Barrett left VM.  Also left a direct 800 number (800) 618-6876.  Mentioned that "this isn't a sales call" and to call her back to find out what we had won.  We called just for fun and left a VM.  Hasn't called back.
