I have received 2 calls from this number (5/23/14@2:37PM ET) and an hour ago (5/30/14@6:31PM ET). Voicemails say it's Uber (a private car service), thanks for your interest in being a driver, and to upload or email license, registration, proof of insurance. Destination addresses are at uber.com. I have called back both times and left a voicemail for "The Google Subscriber is not available" that they are calling the wrong number and to please remove it from their records.

I don't know if they're just misdialing, not updating their records, or trying some kind of guerrilla recruiting tactic. Even though I don't think this is a phish, I would never put it past criminals to have hooked into a legit company's network to siphon confidential data.

Even though it seems to be from Uber, I caution everyone to NEVER, EVER provide copies of your identity, financial, or insurance documents to anyone unless you are absolutely certain the destination is 100% legit, and that YOU initiated the transaction...not someone calling you out of the blue.

It's Uber.  If you put in an app to drive, they are just calling to verify that you gave them a good number.  Just part of their security check.

Same thing happened to me - within minutes of applying to be a driver for Uber, I received a call from this number. No voicemail though.

I called it back with my computer and it is a google voice call number. Someone with a google account is calling ppl with the phone option. But, I don't know why.

Its Uber, a taxi company. I filled a application online within seconds of clicking send, they called and the caller identified herself as a Uber employee.

Received a call from them @ 5am PST, who calls that early?

Why do they do this?
