Got a call at 6 PM--answered.....someone hung up.
Who are these people?

Called me and hung up.  I called back and no answer and could not leave a nasty voice mail.  :)

I got the same call at almost 830 PM  was wondering if it was just me

Jerks! Got a call at 7:47pm with a recorded message that said I'd won something, ( a luxury SUV.) The recording said they were from the Prize Center. He then blurted out a number for me to call. He said it so fast I couldn't understand him. . . much less write it down.

Called left message that I won a car in a contest I enterended...I was to call a number... figured it was a hoax, since it didn't mention my name, and besides I don't enter contests.... I'm sure its a scam to get some cash...

Received call from 708-469-6553, answered, no one there. Jerk hung up!
I'd like to put a 2x4 to these morons' heads!  Call them at 3 a.m. just to wake them up and hang up on them

I got the same call at 8:40 am, just silence on the callers part.
So I googled the number and found out others are getting this same
caller who is just hanging up.

The phone rang and when I answered there was no response on the other end.  I said hello again and still no answer.  I hung up.

did not pick up phone has NO N on name on caller id.  This call came in on November 21,2008 at 7:43 PM

Calls and hangs up when I answer.  Filed a complaint at www.donotcall.gov as I am on the National Do Not Call list.

"Dave Mitchell" called and left the same message as the above posters. It was a recording so I knew it most likely wasn't real, but since I am always filling out contests, I figured it wouldn't hurt to call (800-821-2670) to see what the deal was. I called (it was late at night for me, so I wasn't expecting anyone to answer) and got "Dave Mitchell's" voice mail. The voice mail sounded real enough. Now that I know its a sales pitch, I will avoid the return call should I receive one. Thanks to everyone above, especially Kay. :0)

I rec'd my second call regarding the Grand Sweepstakes Giveaway.  The first time they just left a message, but today I actually talked to the guy.  I had already looked it up on line and most thought it was a scam.  Actually, I think it's legit but not necessarily for the Lincoln Navigator they menitoned in my message.  Its a sales pitch with a guaranteed prize.  If you show up to this sales pitch as a couple and listen to their pitch, probably for timeshares, Michael wasn't specific, you are guaranteed either a Lincoln, $2500 cash, a 7 day cruise in the Bahamas or a 32" flat screen TV.  The reason I believe it is legit is because my brother owns a car dealership and they hire sales companies to come in sometimes to drum up business like this.  Its a high pressure sales pitch, the sales company gets a cut of all the sales and the dealer has an insurance policy in case someone actually wins a car (its a scratch off for the prize deal).  So if you want one of those things and have some time to kill.  You can say no to the pitch.

Me too, got a call stating good news and congratulations on winning a Linc Nav along with advise to call the 800 number. Decided to Google the number and look at all this I found! Caller I.D. displaye different last digit, 708-469-6554....Needless to say, no return call from me either.

I keep getting unwanted calls from this number.

I recieved the identical phone message on my answering machine.  I was expecting a call from my family in another state, so I did not think to not listen.  It was Dave, calling with great news ( even sounds like he's excited to give the news) asking for a reply to the 800-821-2670 number.  I was fairly certain I had never entered to win a Lincoln Navigator, as it would be such a gas guzzler, but it could have been a automatic contest, you use your card, automatic entry, etc.  I spent several times searching the web for Grand Prize Giveaways, looked on my caller ID and saw a 708 area code, so searched the area code.  I was fairly confident it was the latest scam and knew I would GIVE no personal information. iT DOES irritate me that some people are targeted.

I received a message on my voice mail from Dave at the Prize Distribution Center saying I had entered a 'Grand Sweepstakes Giveaway' for a Lincoln Navigator and that he had good news for me.  He said to call 800-821-2670.  The thing is I vaguely remember entering such a contest, but I don't remember the details, and it may have been through a website that has since generated an obscene amount of cell-phone and e-mail spam; and that coupled with the other posts here can pretty much guarantee that I will not call them back.

This number called but the called did not seem to go trough. I waited and then my phone seemed to call this number back automatically. When the call was answered a got a message that said that this number could not take my call at he moment. Then I hung up.

This number called and hung up as soon as I said hello.  Probably trying to find out if I am some senile or ignorant person to take advantage of.

Well, I am an idiot!  At the urging of my son, who has me sign up for any and every sweepstakes out there, I called to see if it was a scam and actually left a message!  So, what should I do now?  I left my full name and phone number...

Hey, got the exact same message 1st week of Jan 2008!  I didn't enter any contest!  Called number back 2 weeks later to see what would happen (planned on hanging up) and got an answering machine telling me to leave my name, phone number and what I was calling about for David Mitchell.  Nope, I'm not stupid enough to do that, so I hung up!

There was a call left on my recorder and it was a recorded message from "Jeff" from the Prize Distibution Center regarding the Grand Sweepstakes Give-a-way. I am to call David Mitchell @ 800-821-2670 becauase he has "good news for me". Seems my name was chosen for a 2007 Lincoln Navigator....Wa Hoo---BUT what contest, where, when? Don't think I'll be calling David Mitchell!!
