these rude people call and hang up they dont leave messages and when you answer the phone they make you wait for a recording or nothing.Ive went on the do not call list and still get contacted

For all of those interested, this is the response that I received from the FCC, and yes the calls have stopped for me.

These scammers call repeatedly from: 708-856-8499 & 708-856-8824.

Has called my cell phone several times.  I don't answer, but it is apparently an independent electrical supplier.

Same here, I answered, thinking I'd get a person and could say DO NOT CALL but no one answered.

This call was made to my cell.  Why would I want that?

Call and do not leave a messgae.  I have called back and there is no description about who they are or what they are calling about.

It could also be a trick reason calls asks you to push  5 to talk to a live rep; but when you ask what company they  represent; they wont give you an answer; but want you to have YOUR bills ready, for what; i don't know where you're calling from and after i give my bill info including my name then you can know everything about me and my finances and where i live and harass me when ever especially if your a collection agency. also notice this phone number same area/town as this number below bull crap trick(scam)
if that cant give you name of company they represent then its a scam.

Received multiple calls and messages but when I replay/play back there is never a message. They call at least 3-4 times a day. 2 days ago I picked it up when they called and like others mentioned, it was an automated message saying if I pressed "x" I could get a discount on my Comed bill. Or, press "x" to get more information. I hung up.

This and several other similar 312, 708, 773 numbers calling me every day several times a day.  I asked several times to be put on their do not call list and they still keep calling.
This call is pertaining to your electric bill.
Recent changes allow you to save money on your electricity.
Press 3 to be taken off the energy saving program.
Press 5 to speak to an agent.

Please stop calling my number.  I am not interested, and the continuous calls are very annoying.

Called two times a day until after I called back and used their option to not call and remove number ---- now they are calling 4 times a day.  (It said was a survey on the recording when I called back)

The 8499 number has stopped calling me after reporting them to the FCC. I just filed a report for the 8824 number.

They call our business line 4 to 8 times a day.  I have asked to be removed, called back and asked to be removed from their list and they still call.  We can't be on the Do Not CAll list as we are a business. But we are a TINY business and I the owner answers the phone.  I can't stand it!

They claim they want to give us a discount on our ComEd bill.   ComEd knows nothing about this.

It's a sales call about changing electric service away from ComEd - 2x a day

They've been calling endlessly but when I pick it up there's nobody there. I called back last week and hit "1" to tell them I didn't want to be called. It kept up today, so I called again and hit "1" and was told to stay on the line and give my phone # after the beep. Instead, I gave them a profanity-laced message that concluded with that if I got another call I was coming down to Chicago Hts. with a howitzer and clean out the place.

THEY  ( 1-708-856-8499) HAVE BEEN CALLING TWICE A DAY FOR THE LAST SEVERAL MONTH'S ,I TOLD THEM I CALLED F.C.C.AND THEY CONTINUE TO CALL, NEXT PHONE CALL FROM THEM , HAVE I GOT A SURPRIZE!! :)

These crooks are also using 773-345-4795 and God knows how many other fake numbers.  I know it's the same outfit because when you call any of their numbers back, you get the same b.s. message about it being a survey call that you missed.  Baloney.  These crooks should rot in hell.  Report them and all their numbers to www.donotcall.gov!

This is NOT Commonwealth Edison.  It's some electricity provider aggregation outfit that is trying to get you to switch from ComEd to someone else, God knows who.  They require your ComEd Acccount Number to do this.

DO NOT GIVE THEM THE TIME OF DAY!!!

These people are making illegal telemarketing calls.  When asked repeatedly what the name of their company was, all she could say was DISCOUNT CENTER.  I call it SCAM.

They are also using 708-856-8499 for these SCAM calls.  When they're not calling and hanging up on people, they are scaring them with the message by pretending to be ComEd.  Again, they are NOT ComEd.  Tell them nothing.  They are scam artists who are breaking the law!

Actually it's an independent electricity provider trying to get you to switch from ComEd to them.  It's a recorded message that provides you the option (#3) to opt out of further contact - it'll be interesting to see if that actually works.
