Received a call from this number and the guy mumbled something and hung up.  I called back and the voicemail attached to this phone number indicated the mailbox was too full to accept anymore messages?????

I didn't answer. Who are they?

This sounds like the exact same number and scam reported previously, a person or machine message "Jim" calling me to say "I won the prize" in "the drawing" at "the mall" and call back a different number.  Caller ID also said "Homewood, IL".  I don't pick up calls from unknown numbers so I let it go to the VM box.  It is a "vacation package" scam that sells you vacations at grossly inflated prices compared with what you can get by looking on the internet yourself through reputable companies.  They get you to go to a seminar and then put the high-pressure sales tactics on you, including starting at a $10,000 package price and then slashing it down to where it's still 30% more than what you could get by booking it yourself.  They are actively under investigation by the TX Attorney General.  Don't fall for it.

Received call, when I answered as a business they hung up. Called back, line answers and is silent, then a number of fast tones. I kept keying in a few random keys, received the tones, then after a little back and forth someone answered. Indicated they were looking for anyone in the household who was a Medicare recipient. Told them I was a business, they said they'd remove my number.

Received a call from this number placed to a cell phone number on March 20, 2010 Saturday in afternoon.  Immediate hangup when answered.  

Note:  an identical type of immediate hangup call was placed to the same cell number on March 19. 2010 in the morning with cell caller-id showing 708-914-1007.  So the abuser seems to have a "bank of numbers".  Using different numbers defeats single number blocking strategies and equipment.

I too am on the  "Do Not Call" registry for land lines but have to check if cell numbers are in there too.

The caller is just another Scumbag human being, abusing our US phone system.

I've received several calls from this number and I send them to voicemail.  A gentleman leaves messages saying that I've won some grand prize, but I haven't entered any contests so I don't bother calling back.  I've reported this number to the Do Not Call Registry.

I've received calls from this number.  Second time a gentleman left a voicemail telling me I was a grand prize winner.  I have not bothered calling back because I haven't entered any type of contest so I figure this must be some type of scam.  I'm filing a complaint because I am on the Do Not Call list.

I recieved a call from 708-914-1006 and was told to call back 866-343-5166 and what was crazy was I called the 866 number and no one answered so I hung up without leaving a message then they actually called me back a few minutes later so I assume they have caller id. When I spoke to a guy named Bryce who asked for my name and I spelled it for him when he spelled it back to me I noticed he got it incorrect but before I could correct him he had already put me on hold. But when he came back he said that he had found my name and I had been entered in a drawing at some mall but could not tell me which one. And that it was probably threw a merchant that I entered and would have showed on the bottom of the reciept. I supposedly won a licoln navigator and cash and a tv and a vacation. Well he wanted to make sure if I showed up in San Antonio, Texas in 6 buisness days I told him I travel too much and couldn't. I told him I was working in Fort Worth and he said there was an office there too. Sounds pretty shady he also wanted to make sure my wife went with me which doesn't sound right why would I have to have anyone there if I won the prize. Anybody elso have more info because I left it at that. With all scams out thre you can't trust anyone can someone let me know if this has happened to you too and if you did follow through what happened.

I didn't call back, but I just got a voicemail from Jim at the prize center with great news.  Same phone numbers: 708-914-1006 on Caller ID, 866-343-5166 to call him back.

Received voice message from this number saying they were Prize Center for the Grand Prix Giveaway Sweepstakes and my name was drawn and to call 866 343 5166 to claim my prize.  When I called I was told the sweepstakes just ended, and since I called back my name would be entered in a drawing on May 30 to win a new Ford Explorer.  When pressed I was told they didnt know how they got my name, they receive entries from many merchants and I probably bought something that had a statement at the bottom of the receipt about the sweepstakes and I would be automatically entered.  There were 3 questions for me to qualify - must be between the ages of 25 and 70, be married and make over $40,000/year, have a valid D/L.  Told them I wasnt married but others applied.  I was told I would be contacted the first week in June.  Sounds like a Time Share to me.
