It's a 708 number so the location cannot be Will County.  They are a scam organization that ignores the Do-Not-Call list and apparently makes enough money from their illegal calls to keep going.  Blow a whistle in their ears.

JSW - You could be right about what you say.  The VA called me last week for a donation and I told them the very most I could contribute is $10.00 as we have fallen on hard times.  They said they couldn't accept $10.00, could I please donate $20 - $25.00.  I said no--ten was my absolute limit and even that was difficult for us.  He said he couldn't accept $10.00 and thanked me for my time.  Soooooo...

They solicit donations. I asked them to take me off of the calling list (I get about...3-5 calls per week), the man who called said "no absolutely not, I will call back later"

Got a call from 708-931-1509, didn't answer. I've gotten to where if I don't recognize the number I don't answer. If they don't leave a message, they are sneaky telemarketers.

I would like too add about that Vietnam vet's caller for charity, Red White Blue level..... Of contribution.... This caller plays this extremely freaky music , before alive person comes on line, it sounds like. Doom Da Doom Da Doom, strange craziness, I told them, change the music scheme, it's ridiculous.......!!!

I just got a call from this number and the lady on the other end had the most annoying voice I have EVER hear, worse than Fran, and when I told her we were on the Do Not Call list and I did not appreciate getting a call she got even more ignorant and said in a RUDE voice "Well Happy Easter to you too" and hung up on me. And they wonder why I put myself on the list to start with.

I constantly get calls from this number asking for donations to Gloves Not Guns charity for Will county and of course it's from a 708 number which is the dumbest scam I've ever seen.  I tell them that I can't donate at this time to get them off the phone and then the second sales pitch comes up, "Oh well for senior citizens or unemployed people we are asking for a 1 time donation of only $20 to this worth while program"." Since I'm sure you've heard of all the stabbings and killings in Chicago then your donation would help a lot of youths."  My dumb phone company won't make it any better when I keep paying to unlist my number and it still show's as being listed. Duhhh.

No Response from the caller, just a couple of guitar cords and the line goes silent.

These jokers call at least once a day (on a good day) and don't get the hint that we're not going to answer their annoying phone calls. If you want to "raise" funds, talk to your local goverment and stop bothering people that are not in Will County.

I've asked these guys to stop calling my house for 2 years now. What irks me about these guys is that they only ask for my husband. When I say he's not home, they just say they'll call back.  I just find it rude. They may make a little more bank if they start asing for the lady of the house rather than just thinking my husband's money is just his. I've told them this before, but some mentalities never change.

With as much respect as I can muster, give information that people can use rather than what you said. charitynavigator.org is my suggestion. Even then, this is SCAM season, close to the holidays, and people are going to try and rip off whomever is gullible enough to think the charity is real. Be careful out there!

Calls like this are scams. The caller ID said Will County and they asked for a lady that I always get wrong-number calls for and not for me. TIP:  Before donating to any charity, look them up at charitynavigator.org and you don't have to be a member to do so. They will break down the operating costs, etc. In the case of the alleged Vietnam Vets (first post above), those people aren't even rated, and they are very weird from the contact I've had with them in person.

Someone from this number called and left no message. Called after 8:00 p.m., which to me is way too late to be soliciting if that's what this was.

How do you know?  Many of these charity organizations that call are legit and don't keep the majority of the money.  Check it out.

I got this call too at 8:50pm.  Caller Id said it was from Will County, IL, but a search placed the phone call from Oak Lawn, IL which is in Cook County.  My answering machine was on but they did not leave a message.  From what I have read, looks like they are trying to solicite.

This number also called my home 7/21/12 around 12:30 in the after noon.... He asked for Mr. I stated he was not home, and he said is this Mrs? Yes, may I help you? He said he was collecting for Illinois State Police Athletic fund..... He was so badly spoken and was using slang, I knew this could not be true. So I kindly told him "no, I am sorry we can not afford this right now" and hung up. But I tried to phone back with my # blocked and there was no answer at all! Not sure what kind of scam this person is running but is really not cool!

Caller id said Will County,  they are supposedly raising funds for the Will County Police but there is no Will County Police.  We have the Will County Sheriff's office so this must be some organization that might donate to officers but they aren't affiliated with the Will County Sheriff's office.
I told them to take my number off their list.

I received a call today from this number as well. 708-931-1509

The caller said "Hello (pause to locate and read my name) John!"

I replied "This is John."

The caller informed me that he was with the Wishing Well Foundation and he was hoping he could once again get my support this year.  I'd donated a small amount last year, but was quite busy at the time and replied with "I'm not interested right now..."

Before I could finish what I was saying, I heard him say "what a retard" as he disconnected the line.

This is awful and I post this only so that they may know what type of waste is doing their telemarketing. Just plain sad.

They called and an automated message came on saying to hold for the next avail. rep.  I waited a couple minutes and then hung up.  I was concerned because the caller id said will county illinois.  Also its 9pm on a Sunday, why would they be calling me

tired of this number popping up on my caller id every single day, called again tonight at 8:30pm while putting my daughter to sleep!! finally blocked out the number, i don't even live in will county, idiots!

Caller ID said Will County IL.  Got a message "please wait for the next available representative".  I hung up.  Hell, my taxes go to C(r)ook County IL.  If this is really some Will County Police thing they should stick to soliciting in Will County.  I don't need to be subsidizing the next county over as well.

No one on line when they called, then it disconnected.
