call the jobline 976-4477

Received two New York calls this morning in Chicago; 718-273-0578 and 718-869-6341.  Both started their recorded messages while our outgoing message was talking so we didn't hear the beginning of what they said and their voice was very hard to understand.  Only thing understandable was "call right now 708-976-4477" on the first message but that isn't either number that showed up on caller ID.  Anybody have an idea what this is about?  We never answer calls we don't recognize

just got the third call in the last two hours.  same guy, same line about city and govt jobs.  I certainly hope this prick gets heavy fines.

Another online complaint noted that their caller ID attributed one of the reported originating numbers, 732-264-4132, as being owned by a Jennifer Petsch.

There's also a thread on this annoyance on the 773 area code at this site. Received in the 773 area code, the complete message verbatim (male voice, NYC/boroughs accent):  "Call the Job Line, 976-4477. Again, 976-4477, for information on how to get a job with the city, state, and government. 976-4477. The post office is hiring right now. Call 976-4477. The Job Line, 976-4477. Thank you."
