I was on a "conference call service" in December...and the man doing the conference, was right here in Los Angeles....but then I got my phone bill and it is the number listed here....and it is in IOWA!  I thought, oh well, I'll pay the bill.

But THEN I look at THIS months bill and the SAME number is listed and I am being charged for it...and I did NOT make any of THOSE calls!

It was not a company that called ME, but a number I was given to call to listen to this conference!

you got a bill for calling the dial in number 712-432-3900, looks like you have called that number & incured the long distance call charge applicable to be paid to your phone carrier as you phone carrier company is the one who bills you not the "Free Conference call" bridge provides who just provides you a bridge system to use for free using which you can hold a conference call with about 250 callers.

If you have not called 712-432-3900 & received a bill from your carrier you have to contact your phone carrier or complain to FCC for the same

It's NO COST CONFERENCE .com  You call in, pay for the call (long distance if necessary) and everyone is conferenced.

I use it to market to people not in my area so that we can all talk together

The originator used to be the one that paid for the call.

This is the number used by http://www.nocostconference.com/ for free conference calls.

My company uses this service daily and it is nothing to be "leary" of.

While the companies that many of these posters are seeking employment with may be suspect, this number is legit.

I know an AA group that uses that base number to have conference calls for homebound folks who need an AA meeting. The PIN number is completely different than any of the ones on this page here.

While the company someone responded to through an ad in Craigslist might be totally bogus, the phone number itself is just a company that sells easy conference calling. Nothing more, nothing less. Open to both the bogus and the important.

Hope that helps.

I like most of you was leary but I thought what harm could it do to phone in and see what it was about. This organization is completely legit. They're no scam...the phone # is exactly that a phone number with access code that will get you in to listen and partake in a conference call where you can ask questions and see if your the type of person they're looking for...ultimately its your choice. its an opportunity. It wasn't for me but its legit.

I received a similar email & a voice mail message asking me call the same  conference call number & password.

After a little research . . .

Global Domains International Inc also known as GDI has exclusive license agreement to distribute the dot WS domains (.ws is the Internet country code top-level domain (ccTLD) for Samoa) which is their main offer to customers.

GDI apparently has a Multi Level Marketing Strategy to distribute and market these domains.

I also received a message from these people. It is, indeed, just a conference number and I doubt since they have a forums with all information about the conference system, that it would charge you to call it. However, I will be messaging these people back to ask for more information about the "job" before I do call, just in case. This is the message I received, which is extremely similar to the previous one. If they are having more than one conference call at the same time, it does not seem very business-like at all. I have, however, done business conference calls before for legitimate business.

I just googled GDI (please don't do it, you are only helping them move up in the google search!) and this is what I found after a lenghly website sales pitch:

The opportunity we provide is so affordable ... after the 7 day free trial...the cost is Far LESS than the cost of a pizza!

A Little about the BIG Payplan...

You will receive $1 per month per member in your team (downline). In fact, the matrix can give you an income of $UNLIMITED$ Earnings! per month in residuals.

We have a compensation system that is UNLIMITED WIDTH...and 5 levels deep..

The miracle of our system is that you can build an organization by placing just a few members on your first level to hundreds or more on your first level.......its Unlimited Width!!! This can easily add up to hundreds and thousands of dollars in earnings per month...it is happening right NOW!

It is a true marvel of Downline Building Science! Because you can Move any of your personally sponsored during their free trial period, under another member in your downline!

We welcome you to this business, and urge you to try it. You truly have nothing to lose with the 7 day free trial offer and you stand everything to gain.GDI is doing for their members what online businesses all over the internet should be doing.

Don?t get left behind! This is a brand new offering and the timing couldn?t be better.

******************************************************

So now I have googled the phone number and GDI and see it is a piramid type of scheme...so, don't do it!

I am not sure what is up with this organization, but to see they are gathering large groups together for a conference call is not typical for a real job - and I am sure not risking - whatever the motives are.

Other things to consider before calling:

1.  No company name in email return address (it is a gmail account)
2.  No phone number - but asks to send questions by email.

No company is so big and booming they can hire as many people as they could potentially hire based on their candidate marketing strategies.  Something smells and I aint biting.

I worked for a few legit companies and most of them recruit people by having them call a number where they conduct a conference call to inform people about the company and what is expected of them. This phone number is not the company but a conference call provider they use. One of the more known companies is Workforcelogic by google.
