I received 3 calls from this number already since 8;20 this morning 5/15/09, I answered on the first call @ 8:20, the caller didn't say anything, sounded like he was munching on something.

Sometimes, they would use the number 712-941-3521--Sergent BLF!, sometimes is would show private number!--Very Aggrevating!!

Same thing with me, called and no one picks up on the other end.

Female and Male from this phone number 1-712-941-3521 have called my private line repeatedly.  They are rude, practiced, bullying, talk over me, refuse to give their name, address, or reason for calling.  I talked over them today and warned them I was calling the FCC.

A couple of things you can do.  First, fill out a FCC Form 1088 each and every time you get an abandoned or telemarketing call or spam fax.  Believe me, sooner or later the FCC actually does act.

Maybe try calling their Public Relation people or Investor Relations and complain.  If they get bothered enough they may have your phone number removed.  In addition to the 712-941-3525 they have also called from 804-234-9055.  I have reported both numbers on the FCC Form 1088.

By the way, I am getting the calls myself and have asked on several occasions to remove my number, they have the name right but wrong person.  If they are collecting a debt you tell them not to call, to send mail.  These people at AACC say they only work by phone so technically they would have to stop contacting you.

This outfit calls my house twice a day for the past 6 months.  They are a collection agency in Iowa.  They are asking- - -by robocall- - -for a person who not only doesn't live here- - -but never did.  Their other number is 1-804-234-9054.  I did call them once and told them no one here by that name.  They just keep calling.  I've turned off the house phone ringer.

Called for an Anthony Jones. I don't know an Anthony Jones. The caller asked did I know why he would be calling from my phone number several months ago. I informed her that I have had this same cell # for years and my phone is always in my personal possession. She didn't seem convinced, too bad!!! I don't know an Anthony Jones and that is the WHOLE TRUTH!!!!

They called but the phone only rang twice, so no voicemail or anything.  And they never called back.  I looked at the Iowa location on the ID and will not be calling them back.  I'll know when I'm ready to pay off my debt...they can't get money I don't have.  I stopped talking to collecters a while ago after their rude attitudes on the phone.  Finally I realized when they call they want all or nothing...so I don't talk to them anymore.

Wrong phone number. I have tried three times to get it stopped but they continue anyway. They are rude and show no remorse for thier screwup.

Just telling these wiseguys to stop calling will not work. You must send them a "Cease and Desist" letter to their corporate office. You can google "cease and desist" and there are several good examples on the net. If they continue to call after that letter then hire a consumer rights attorney.

Yeah, they are relentless, all right. I finally had to have my phone changed to an unlisted number because they refused to stop calling me about someone else's debt.

Problem solved.

Call constantly. This time left a message for someone I have never heard of and has never lived here! My family has been in this same house for over 50 years. Have called for other people before and have said they will take my number off the list. Yeah, right!

Yea...these collectors are supposed to stop when you tell them to but they don't.  And yes there are laws that they are supposed to follow but they don't.  Why?  Because no one can do anything about it and the people that can, have better things to do.  I had a woman call me 13 times a day for someone that I have never heard of and as nice as can be, I told these people on a number of occasions that they had a wrong number.  It wasn't until I got so fed up with the calls and blasted the woman with every curse word under the sun and threatened to sue her for harrassment that the calls finally stopped.  I'm guessing once she got me to that point, she finally realized I meant business.  I could not imagine waking up one morning and saying to myself, "hmmmm.  I want to be a bill collector and harrass people for living.  Wouldn't that be a great job?"  What a bunch of losers!!!!!  They probably have a million and one collections under their belt as well but because they work as a scum bag bill collector, their collections suddenly "disappeared."  And now they suddenly have the nerve to tell people to pay their bills and they won't have this problem.  Well sorry there tough guy, people who have unfortunate circumstances do run into unfortunate problems and if you can't understand that, then you're the deadbeat.  And I love the line that they use when speaking to a voicemail..."if you are so and so, please stay on the line.  If you are not so and so, hang up."  Yea, like my voice mail really knows to hang up on them.  And because it doesn't, they assume they have the right number and the right to continue being a low life loser.  If there are any bill collectors reading this....YOU ARE A LOSER!!!!!!!!

i ignore all of these calls as i know they are all nothing. i have caller id which shows the number and location of all calls and this Iowa number is one that every now and then harrasses my phone #.
I advertise in the yellow pages so I am used to getting lots of BS calls. If NOT from my area I ignore them entirely.

They - a computer generated call - keep calling me looking for a "Sarah Friedman" even though no one by that name has ever been at my number. How do I stop this annoying and pointless calls?

should be, if you tell them to stop calling, they should stop.  At least that's the theory.  There are particular
laws these debt collectors "have" to follow.  Then again
these folks are kinda bottom of the barrel.

They buy the debt for pennies on the dollar from the original debtee or other collector, and get what they
can from the debtor.

Also, if there is no payment activity at all for 7 years,
most debts are statute-of-liabilitied away.  That's why
they  want you to at least send a little, if you do the
7 years starts all over again.

My fathere recently moved to a nursing home and was given a number that used to be the fax number for a company that has gone out of business.  Asset Acceptance is the 4th bill collection company to harrass my father.  I'm ready to contact an attorney.

Hi, You can check with your phone company on how to BLOCK unwanted calls - I'm sure there is a fee - but worth the peace of mind :o)

I can confirm Asset Acceptance. They keep calling me from different phone numbers as well.

Calling for son who doesn't live here. Won't take no for an answer. Debt fraudulent, investigated and cleared by credit bureaus. Still keep calling.

These people have multiple phone numbers and won't ever give up. Asset Acceptance. They are a collection agency. My son had his driver's license stolen and someone set up a phone account in his name, running up a $700 bill. We did an investigation with the credit bureau who took it off the record, but the collection agency won't stop calling, no matter what I tell them. I don't talk to them any more, but don't know how to stop the early morning calls. My son doesn't even live with us any more.
