Get your facts straight before you post stuff that makes you look ignorant.  The THPA (Texas Highway Patrolman's Association) is the organization you are talking about not the TSTA (Texas State Troopers Association).  Some people really need to do research before they post on the internet, but not everyone can be smart I guess.

Here is my suggestion on how to handle continued unwanted calls. Go to a sporting goods store and buy a loud whistle. The first time you ask them not to call again. If they do you give them a loud blast.

Statewide Appeal left no message. The phone number seems to be bounced off Houston Texas. Why would a sane person continue to call when their target is not interested. Isn't this harrasment?

Several years ago (maybe 10 or 15) my wife made a donation to Texas State Troopers thinking it was a legitimate organization. She thought it was a genuine trooper on the phone, and the telemarketer did nothing to correct that idea. Since then we have learned that the company is a privately-owned telemarketer that keeps most of the money for themselves. They keep calling back, again and again and again. The telemarketer owns the name "Texas State Troopers Association," so you are not donating to a real organization.  Now they are using a different name, "Statewide Appeal." This operation is an awful scam. Do not answer.  Or if you do answer, for heaven's sake don't make a "donation" to this fraudulent appeal.

Called back and it said to call from the number I was called from and no answer. How odd.

These number call once in a week and sometimes twice. I never answer these calls and thet don't leave messages. Probably this calls from State troop Association.

Just got a call from this number.  I have CID and don't answer calls from numbers I do not recognize.  Have read the previous posts and appreciate the info I've read.  Thanks to all.

My husband unfortunately fell for this scam last year and since then they keep calling back. They are extremely rude on the phone and won't stop calling. Is there any way to stop these calls or to block them?

No Caller ID, but some web research shows that this number belongs to a company called Statewide Appeal, which is a telemarketing firm that represents "non-profit" entities.  They're calling to get a donation for the Texas State Troopers Association, which as been identified as a scam organization by the Texas Attorney General's office.
