The person from 713-370-5005 also claims to be David Aurello - offering work-from-home scam. Contacts people after obtaining their information from job boards. Obvious scammer.

Happened last year...scared me enough to get my credit record.

This guy, with indian accent, named "Daniel White, just called me AGAIn on my work phone, leaving a threatening message. saying I'll be sorry if I don't call him back ASAP and that I might go to jail. Bull s**t. I am so sicken tired of this stupid terrorist, leave me the hell alone.

I cant believe these people are pretending to be a "flower company" Hello did you get your flower delivery today? NO ok thank you click...haha I dont know what they want but  would suggest they leave me thee hel* alone.

Received call twice claiming I had a criminal complaint against me?  Very unsure what they are talking about.  I will not call back.

Daniel White called me as well! This is the second time I have been contacted; the first by a different number leaving a similar message. I was panicked and called the police. They told me it was a SCAM and to be careful as they will "fish" for personal information. This time I was able to laugh at the threatening message left; however, who can this be reported too? So frustrating! Damn foreigner!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got this same message from Daniel White, I surely am not involved in money laundering or terrorist financing if he was really with Financial Crime Department...How can we do something about this? Who can we contact to report this guy and get him taken down?!

Received a call today sent it to voice mail since I didn't recognize the number.  Listened to the threatening message from an Indian voice with an american name Dan White. Message told me he had a case file on his desk naming me as the primary suspect couldn't understand most of the message because his accent was so strong.  Came home very upset made my husband listen to the voice mail and shake his head at me since it made no flippin since.  Tried to pull the number on the internet and found this blog letting me know its a scam. This really pisses me off left voice mail letting them know I am reporting them to the AG.

its a complete scam!!! even if you do owe a payday loan company they will never act in the manner of this guy.

call the REAL finacial crime dept. they are affiliated with the dpt of the treasurey and will call him and tell him to stop. It is without question a scam and the dude is going down.

I received a call from andrew parker on june 29 2010. I didn't answer the phone at first because I didn't recognize the number. When I listen to my voice mail it was. Mr parker statin g that he worked with the financial crime department for the federal government and that it was in my best interst to call him because I had a warrant.  Is this f---'--- man for real.he is calling from somewhere in texas from a landline phone from his home what can be done to stop the phone calls

have gotten 2 phone calls from this number, the first claiming to be Officer Andrew Parker, the second from Daniel White from a Gov't Agency saying I am the prime suspect in a "fraud ring". Both calls stated if I didn't call back, they were "sorry for what was going to happen to me."

This asian, with an american name claims to work for a "fraud department".... I have a warrant I dont know what they do in his country but here in the states.... the police dont warn you they are comming after you they come....what a joke..... its a home and not a compnay beware dont give any info.

So the guy who called me told me his name is Daniel White. He spoke with some kind of accent and when I asked him which company is filing a criminal investigation on me he also said payday loans. When I called he told me to hold on while he looked for my case, and I heard him mumbling my name quietly as if he was telling someone near him who it was calling. I called him out on it and he insisted that this was no joke. I told him to have a nice f******day and hung up the phone on him. He has not tried call me back since.

The Internet Crime Complaint Center has received many complaints from victims of payday loan telephone collection scams. Callers claim the victim is delinquent in a payday loan and must repay the loan to avoid legal consequences. The callers purport to be representatives of the FBI, Federal Legislative Department, various law firms, or other legitimate-sounding agencies. They claim to be collecting debts for companies such as United Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Net, and other Internet check-cashing services.

According to complaints received from the public, the callers have accurate data about victims, including Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, employer information, bank account numbers, and the names and telephone numbers of relatives and friends. How the fraudsters obtained the personal information varies, but in some cases victims have reported they completed online applications for other loans or credit cards before the calls started.

The fraudsters relentlessly call the victim?s home, cell phone, and place of employment. They refuse to provide any details about the alleged payday loans and become abusive when questioned. The callers have threatened victims with legal actions, arrests, and, in some cases, physical violence if they do not pay. In many cases, the callers harass victims? relatives, friends, and employers.

Some fraudsters have instructed victims to fax a statement agreeing to pay a certain amount, on a specific date, via a pre-paid Visa card. The statement further declares the victim will never dispute the debt.

If you receive these calls, do not follow the caller?s instructions. Rather, you should:

Notify your banking institutions.
Contact the three major credit bureaus and request an alert be put on your file.
Contact your local law enforcement agencies if you feel you are in immediate danger.
File a complaint at www.IC3.gov.
Tips to avoid becoming a victim of this scam:

Never give your Social Security number?or personal information of any kind?over the telephone or online unless you initiate the contact.
Be suspicious of any e-mail with urgent requests for personal financial information. The e-mail may include upsetting or exciting but false statements to get you to react immediately.
Avoid filling out forms in e-mail messages that request personal information.
Ensure that your browser is up-to-date and security patches have been applied.
Check your bank, credit, and debit card statements regularly to make sure that there are no unauthorized transactions. If anything looks suspicious, contact your bank and all card issuers.
When you contact companies, use numbers provided on the back of cards or statements

I just received a phone call from this number stating that they are from the Financial Crime Department of a company but the won't tell you who.  They told me that charges were being brought against me for nonpayment of a Payday Loan (which I obviously never received).  Just call their bluff and tell them that you know it is a scam and miraculously all your charges are dropped!
