I have T-Mobile. This number calls and says "hello. This is Verizon wireless calling about a change in your account.."

Verizon said they would call my cell phone if they needed to contact me. Been receiving calls on my home phone. Verizon does NOT have my home phone number.

Used to work at Verizon 411. They have no way of knowing all the phone numbers and extensions Verizon has. Somebody somewhere probably has a list, but not the ground troops you get to talk to.

Not Verizon. I checked that number with them. They said not one if their numbers.

Keep getting calls from this number. No message. When I call back it says it's a voicemail retrieval system but I have no message. They claim to be verizon

713-401-2837 has been calling me saying there has been a change in my account status. They have asked for vital information about my account. I called Verizon and they said it is a scam. I asked them to block that number so I would not get more calls.

Got a call from this number which I did not answer, they did not leave a message.  However, I am not now, nor have I ever been a Verizon customer.  Since that seems to be the line they're using, I caution those who are about giving information to these people.

Just wondering,...the caller ID shows "unassigned", so if this IS indeed Verizon, and is an "unassigned" number, how is it a working number??  If it is "unassigned", it should not be a working number!  Puzzling...!!!

This is a scam, total BS, and uncool.  Don?t call back, F them.

It is indeed Verizon..It's a payment reminder call which is followed up with a text to your cell phone.

As always, NEVER give out personal or financial information on a call you did not make, from a number you verified. Find out what they want, look the number up (bill, online, phone book), call them back.

The phone number *IS* from Verizon Financial Services.  You can call 611 from your verizon phone to verify the number was actually from an actual Verizon customer services representative.  They were able to verify this number called me today twice to get me to make a payment on a past due account.  Again, this number is a real Financial Services Verizon phone number.

As Terry mentioned, I did have a past due bill when the same calls claiming a "change to your account" started coming, 2  or 3 times a day. They even knew the name on the acct and the recording instructed me: "If this is **** ****, press 1 to continue". I hung up but, thinking it might have something to do with my bill, I paid my bill online, then called Verizon billing dept and described the call. He said Verizon does have an office in Houston, but that they never make repeated calls like that and if it's bill related, they say so (never "a change to your account"). He asked if I wanted him to put a block on the call and I agreed to that, so I won't get the calls. I'm a little apprehensive, hoping the rep knew for sure the call was not Verizon. I just find it a coincidence that the calls started precisely when my bill was past due plus the call was from Houston, where they have an office. And another thought, Verizon recently started offering that "More Everything Plan". When talking with the rep about my acct, he said that they had automatically switched me to "More Everything" because it lowered my bill by a small amount without changing any of my features. Could Verizon be trying to reach similar acct holders? If it is a scam, I'm guessing it's an inside job.

Same call, twice now. Might be a good idea to receive all your Verizon messages by email. Scam emails exists also but they're a little easier to detect by holding your mouse over the link and seeing where the link directs to.

If you have a past due balance in th next cycle, then they call.

Forgot also to say, that they don't leave any voice message.

Calls 1-2 times during the day. Get breaks in their calls 3-4 days, then starts over again

Number calls several times a day. Never leaves a message. Very annoying and it can be costly.

got a phone call from this # claming to be verizon. Wanting me to play by bill over the phone. i called verizon and this is not a phone # verizon will call people from and will not make you give info over the phone

I just had a new phone sent because there was a defect with my new one. Maybe they call when there is any sort of problem. I am frequently late with my bill (not to the point of it being turned off, late none the less) and I rarely get a call from them. Maybe there is some sort of change in the acct... if you are late, then there is a change in your acct to the point to where you cant make any changes top your acct (ie plan, device, etc) until you pay your bill. So it may not be that you are getting a "collection call" but just notifying you that you cannot make changes until you pay your bill. I am not sure if this helps.

Said to call back and enter your phone number from Verizon.
Don't, I work for Verizon and I know its a scam. Nothings changed on your acct. Don't fall for it. Again, its a scam.

claims to be verizon and that there's been a change to my account and that they need to speak to me within the next 24 hrs.  it's not verizon!!  verizon's customer service number is 1-800-922-0204 and that's the number they'd ask any customer to call not the number these people are leaving!!! scam!!!

I called this number back and it's simply a message center letting me know my payment was late. However, this is not a number where you can pay your bill. Not incredibly useful considering they also send me a text and an email with this information.

Claim to be from VerizonWireless....claiming that there is a change to my account. Sorry chum....no changes. People like you should be fined big time and made to pay people's cell bills....bet you'd stop.

Unwanted call delete

I am up to date on my bill and still I got a call too.  So maybe not everyone getting these calls are "assclowns".....

Well, I'm confused about receiving calls from this # seeing that i am not on Verizon network or have ever been on my friends plan. I get these calls on my phone for his bill of course when hes behind. I called Verizon to find out why, and they stated maybe he has put me down as an emergency contact. When i called my friend that has verizon he said he hasn't put me down as anything. What are the odds that (I) out of (ALL) his contacts are getting the calls on his behalf.  Puzzling to me...!
