I called back...40 times in an hour. Kept asking them to simply tell m what TCI stood for. At one point, I overheard one guy, Ron, talking to someone about rolling blunts after work. Eventually they started sayong that I should stop because I was harassing them. Lolol. I asked if they enjoyed it as much as I was enjoying being harassed by them. They told me they didn't like it and begged me to stop. I told them I would, but that next time they call me, they will get 2 hours of calls back. I don't know if it will stop them, but it sure was cathartic!

Got one too. I have adopted a "zero tolerance" policy with any calls that have "Not Provided", "Unknown", "Unknown Caller", "Unknown Name", "Anonymous", "Name Withheld", or any variation of the above. I used to allow my answering machine to deal with them, but they seldom leave a message, or sometimes use a noise generator to try to fill up the machine. Now, I simply look at the caller ID, and if it says any of the above, I pick-up long enough to complete the call (1 sec.) and then promptly hang-up. They get charged for a completed call, and I don't have to listen to the phone ring. Then, I come here and look-up the number.  I am amazed at the amount crap I have avoided with this method. This method works, there is nothing they can do about it, and it is immensely satisfying to run up their bill. Repeat as often as necessary. :-)   Note: I have noticed lately that I am getting a lot of out-of-area-code calls from (purportedly) cell phones. These come up as "New York Call", etc. I'm still letting the answering machine handle these. I never get a message, and still look them up here. It's the usuall suspects, still trying to hide their identity. Do this for any suspicious call you do not recognise.  Keep a list, and use the pick-up - hang-up method on them too!!! :-)

This number tried calling me this morning. I rejected it with a text message  "Quit F'ing Calling Me"...... my phone said it was delivered. Wonder how they liked that one?  LOL

The previous holder of the phone number I currently have was apparently receiving debt collection calls 24/7 - I'm now getting them and steadily chunking off the plethora of phonecalls that come in on a daily basis. I just called this Texas based number, stated that they were trying to reach someone who no longer has this phone number, and they apologized and told me they'd pull it and cease the calls. Very polite - now we'll see if the calls stop.

You guys are trying too hard.  I get the number from caller id, save it as ignore, set the ringtone to silent and smooth sailing.  Do not answer and watch your screen.  Never been bothered since.  All things sunny where I am from.

first time getting that phone call so i answered but all i heard was backround noise and people talking in the backround and from all the comments i dont think i will be answering and i also think that im pretty much younger than all of you. nut thakls for the heads up everyone :)

Rude Vampires preying on the sick and disabled for money they obviously don't have.  Number blocked until Socialized healthcare kicks in.

I kept getting calls for someone and the girl that called asked for them and I said who is this.  She said TCI Tax collectors INc.  Then said are you Mrs. ____ I said no she accused me of lying.  So I called the number back and asked to speak with a manager who was conveniently not at his desk.  I told them I was going to get an attorney and file harassment charges if the phone calls continue and that I dont appreciate them.

they've been calling non-stop for weeks... whenever I answer there is nobody there.  This is very annoying and I wish I knew who they were.  The calls became MORE frequent AFTER I signed up for the do not call registry... seems to me there is a direct correlation here and signing up may not have been in my best interest.

I answered and said "hello, hello" then a woman called my name...I just kept saying "hello, hello, hello" she just got frustrated and hanged up. he he he

I don't think that is a collection agency, because I owe nothing to any medical facility. I just got a call from them with blank voice mail. Do you think they are smart people, if they never leave a VM? I blocked their phone number and it is the best decision (if they have any question - send me a letter by mail and my attorney will take care about).

Just got a call on my cell. 4 times in a row!!! They hung up every time.. Nothing on the caller ID??

I got a call from them today.  When I answered and said hello 2x, no one responded.  I called the number back, as I live near Houston/ area code 713.  Some guy answered business office.  I asked what business office?  He just asked from my phone number and wouldn't tell me who or what this was.  I hung up.

Right after I posted this, I called the number from another phone number, a human being answered, took my information and told me the name he was trying to call and said he was a collection agency and someone must have keyed the number in wrong. He apologized and said it would take about three days for the number to cycle out of the automated dialer, but after that I shouldn't have any more trouble. He was EXTREMELY polite and helpful. We'll see if the calls stop, but I have great hope.

I am getting a call from them on a private corporate cell phone. I have no idea how they got the number. They never leave a message and when I am able to answer live, there is no one on the phone.

They are based out of Ohio.  Typically handle various unpaid medical bills, however they also do other service provided type collections.  I.e. Waste Management Service, College tuition, dental, banking etc.

**They are relentless.**  They have anywhere from 40% to 96% recovery rate depending on the type of service.  They use tactics like, using multiple phone source locations to avoid harassment laws as one example.  Tacking on additional fees when legally allowed, (though not required), your bill can increase quickly.

I had a $100 medical debt owed with them, after fees was over $240 and recently paid it.

They call every hour so when I answered the phone some uneducated guy asked for my mother who has been dead over 7 years he told me I was lying i just hung up.

They called me and I decided to answer. I have my cell phone on Do Not Call as well. I asked who they were they said "TCI" and didn't elaborate so I asked what is TCI? They said a business. It is a collection agency I am sure, because there was a long pause before they answered and they asked for me by name. I don't think they should be allowed to call you if you are registered. I'll have to check my credit report to see WHO they are ....because I don't recognize them.

I rcv a call from this number no message left and when I callled back the number was busy.  The second and third time I called no response once the call went through there was feed back almost like a fax machine picked up.

Just got my 9th call from these people.  No messages and when I answered the 7th call, they simply hung up.  I am sooooo tired of people like this calling me.  How do we get them to stop?  I am on the No Call List, so why do they keep calling!?!?!?!?!?!?
