I finally got smart a while ago and canceled Verizon "copper line" service and moved to cable telephone service. I received a final bill from Verizon which was hard to decipher since they bill for some service in advance and some service in arrears.  Total amount due was about $ 30.

Just after 30 days following their mailing the final bill Verizon turned this over to NCO Financial for collections.  OK, so I'm no longer a customer but all of a sudden I'm a deadbeat?

I told NCO that I needed to see the final Verizon bill before I would pay anything.  Uppity/nasty NCO employee said "OK."  I asked her how they were going to send the bill (fax, email, snail-mail) and she said "We're sending it."  Uppity, nasty and also an ignoramus.  

Two more phone calls from NCO before something came in the mail from NCO.  It was simply a re-iteration of their claim that I owe $ 30.  The Verizon bill was not sent.

I found the final Verizon bill and indeed I owed $ 30.  Fair enough.  I sent a check.

The calls from NCO continue.  That's fine.  I put one on hold for several minutes recently.  Was great to hear her keep saying 'Hello?  Hello?  Hello?"

Keep getting periodic automated calls from this number requesting we call Ed Blanchard at NCO Financial Services regarding a debt but it never lists for what company or account it's supposedly for.

claim to be a debt collection company. Not behind in any payments.

they called and left one message,have no idea who they are and they do not say who they are leaving the message for,it is just an automated call,not real person,second time i answered the phone,i was on hold waiting for real person,then they were asking me for wrong person,wrong phone number,i too think they are verizon

NCO Financial - debt collection agency. Believe they work with Verizon.

Automated Call without identifying company or purpose, requesting return call and giving a reference number on the return. Unable to copy down information quick enough to copy reference. Return call to this number reported caller's mailbox is full. Gave *H for help or *R for pass word to accept system. No answer but reported line busy to main switchboard.
I suspect it is collection agency but don't know who they represent, probably numerous possibilities.
