I was selling something on craigslist as well, and he contacted me like the same or next day.. He sent a check with an overly amount, double the money and more.. They're a spam. If you try to cash the fake check, it WILL stain your record by trying to deposit something thats not real. 713-487-6881

Offering to pay on Craigslist with a certified check, which is a guaranteed scam.  Stay away!

FYI, it may happen to me because I'm selling my twin bed on Craiglist. I received several texts like Justin's and Jackson's statement. According to the text messages, it stated a name, Greg. He also said about "certified check." Even he asked your name and mailing address for sending the certified check. Interestingly, he typed, "I will ask my secretary to issue out the payment and other payments also for the charges and pick up fees will be included with your payment.so once you have it and it clears, deduct your part and I'll let you know what to do with the excess in other for the mover to be to come for the pick up at your residence."

Same for me just FYI. I put an ad on Craigslist to BUY a washer/dryer set. Phone number contacted me asking if I had it to sell. Politely said no assuming he misread my ad, then a few hours later a text comes asking to pay with a "certified check" for my items. Clearly a scam, if you get a response back from this number just delete it.

Looks like they are a scam! 713-487-6881 is texting me saying they will send a paypal payment to me for purchase of a vehicle i have for sale and they would like to hire a moving company to pick up the vehicle..........THEY ARE A SCAM!! BEWARE!!
