Receiving phone calls from this number 713-507-0923, the recorder picked it up. Noted the *72 info and then advised I'll be charged $3.93 for the 1st minute and additional money for each additional minute. The recording stopped at that point. Also stated this was a 3rd party call. Now what? Are we responsible for this call? Is this infact an inmate from Harris County Jail? Caller type showed "Pay phone"

I got 2 calls this evening from 713-507-0923, Caller ID said "Pay Phone". A recording said it was "From an inmate at the Harris County Jail". At that point I hung up the phone since I don't know anybody from this area. A few minutes later, the phone rang again (same number), so I thought perhaps I would accept the call just in case. An individual calling himself, "Officer Ray Johnson" asked me if I knew an "Inmate Smith". I told him no, and he said that he would have this inmate investigated for giving false information. He then told me that he would give me the information to contact his seceratary "Lisa Williams", and she would take the necessary information to start the investigation. He told me to press *721 on my phone. By this time, I realized that something was not right and hung up my phone. I did not follow his instructions prior to hanging up my phone. When I tried to redial the number it came up as "Not in Service". Don't fall for this scam, it can cost you lots of money by using your number to make calls.
I contacted my phone provider and was instructed to report this number at 1-888-382-1222.

I have grandkids and a brother-in-law in Houston so I accepted call from Harris County. Turns out the call was for a "Lisa Johnson and her two little children". Officer said to call his secretary "Susan" to get the charges removed from my phone and gave a *721 etc. number to call. Since then four more calls from similar numbers have shown up on my caller ID. I will report this to the phone company in the morning.
