We have been getting collect calls from payphones for the past few days. We just let the answering maching pick them up.

I've been receiving calls every 10 minutes from this number. also 713 - 507-0962, 9967, 0984, 0941, 0967, 9991, 0959, and 9957. When i answer it tells me I have a call from an inmate in Harris County Jail. I contacted the jail there. they gave me 2 number to use to block the jail from calling. When i called one of these numbers it told me no one had called from harris county jail. so, i contacted my phone company. They advised me this is a scam. DO NOT ANSWER IT! DO NOT GIVE OUT YOUR INFORMATION! You can't block the number and harris county sherrif's office cant do anything about it.

This call ocurred on February 23, 2009....

Received a call from pay phone 713 507-0984  (a male) claiming this was an emergency call from harris county, and an inmaye provided this number as an emergency contact number. The caller would not reveal the name of the inmate, but wanted us to punch in certain characters on the phone. We immediately hung up. I believe this was a scam!
