Someone keeps calling saying: "You have a collect call from the Harris County Jail". After you accept the call worried its a family member or friend in need of help, a man comes on and tells you he is "Sargent James" from the Harris county jail and asks if you know a John Johnson? After I made it clear that no police officer would call collect for an inmate; he said the inmate must have gotten on his line. As I aked for his badge number and what he wanted the line went mute with a ton of back ground noise. I assume that I have been scammed by a call center for the collect call charges. This is sad and I am pissed.

They call saying that is a collect call from Harris county, and when you ask who is the person in jail, he give you a number, very confusing and he take his time, very slowly. and ask you to dial a number *72122... etc, when you hang up, but they call you several times, and in the caller ID is a pay phone number, but whe you dial back a machine answer saying the number is not working. they call also from the number 713 5070923

We got three calls in a row from that number. Each time, we let it go to the answering machine. After the third call, I took the phone off the hook and left it there so we could eat our dinner in peace and quiet.

Got a call about 9;10 p.m. I took their info. & realized the was not a legit call. I do not want to be charged for this. How do I find out if I will be?
