Phone caller identifies themselves as a locator service looking for me in regards to a legal matter being brought against my social security number and I would need to call 512-646-2268 to discuss the matter.  Tried calling the number back and the phone just rings and rings, figured it is a scam, because I called the other number which presents themselves as a pre trial law office but they will not give a name of the law firm and after talking to a lawyer they tell me they would have to give both name and address of their location. They tell me I have an outstanding payday loan and that if I don't make an immediate payment they will serve me papers and have me arrested, after speaking with the county clerks office this is impossible because to be served you would first need a certified letter, which I have never received.  Total scam!!!!

You show a California address but 713 is a Houston, TX exchange.

I pretended I wanted to come to their corporate office and pay cash to trick them into telling me their street address which they refused to give but thanks to this site and ones like it I was able to tell them I already knew it.  they refused to escalate my call to a supervisor or add me to a do not call list so I told them their address and that I would be down there soon to set their building on fire and shoot everyone that ran out.  I told them that blood would be on their hands if they called me one more time and I haven't been called back since.

Received a call from 713-588-0938, very rude woman asked me to verify my name and last 4 digits of my SS#, when I asked her why she said they had an unpaid debt from 2000...EXCUSE ME????  A TWELVE YEAR OLD DEBT?  #1 the debt is not mine, my credit is spotless, no lates pays, no collectionss, no negative accounts...and she wants to tell me she will place a judgement on my credit report????  GO AHEAD...TRY IT!!!!!!

I just received a call from 713-588-0938 and it was a recording and said that she was from Dynamic Recovery Solutions (DRS) a debt collector and to call her right away. She gave a toll free # 1-877-590-9066.
Don't have a debt so I won't be calling back and blocking this #.

I've received two calls that referenced me to the above number. They asked for "Abel" (clearly the wrong number). If they call again, I will answer and tell them that they have the wrong number.

They called my cell and left a message stating that I shoul called and she stated she was from Dynamic Recovery and it was urgent I get back to her today. Left the 866 number.
It seems it is the same M O used.

DRS is a debt collector that is not even for me.

Got missed call on my phone....unlike the others (thank you all for your reports) no message was left.  Got news for these idjits - no message no call back. Number erased from call list.  I have enuf bottom feeders trying to get me to pay accounts cleared in bankruptcy 10 years ago.  Geeeeez.

DRS is a CHINESE company parading under the guise of a Security firm.   Recovery firm BS.  Apparently They are getting your info from NSA.  BTW they do not Identify themselves.  Just not telemarketer.

I just received a call from this number.  The lady was driving in a car talking on a cell phone and it kept cutting out.  She wanted to know if I was the person she was looking for and she did not want to identify herself or her company name.

I received a call and he said my first name. I asked who he was and who DMR was. He didn't tell me and then asked me to confirm the last four  of my SS#. I told him I would not discuss my SS # with anyone over the phone and hung up.

Thanks Chris, that is the best explanation of how these rats work.  Also the most common sense approach to handling them that I've read.  Many people can get rattled big time by their constant harassment.  Great advice!!

I've been getting calls from this number for over a month now. As many of you stated, they got me to call back with the general "very important" voicemail. I called back. They are trying any and everything they can to collect information on us for some reason. It's definitely a scam. I think the lady I spoke with was named "Marie" as well. She rambled on about how I had a credit card that was opened in 2008 and was fine until 2010 when someone just stopped paying the bill. I havent owned a credit card since 2006. She proceeded to ramble on about an address for the credit card I'd never lived at or heard of and even went to far as to try to tell me they were about to subpoena me for a court hearing regarding this. I REALLY fell out laughing then. I told her I'd believe it when I got it. She proceeded to try to tell me it's on my Experian report. I caught her in a lie because I get monthly credit statements as many of us do and it's not on there. She then told me, "Oh, I made a mistake. It's on your TransUnion report." I told her she was lying then as well. She hung up. All they do is call now.

Having gotten calls for a LaVanda beginning in Fall 2010 to Winter 2011, thanks to others getting phone calls from anonymous dunning agencies too, I was able to hunt the source to a collection agency with corporate offices in the North East.   I was getting 6-12 calls a week for LaVanda from different numbers all over the country.  After cataloguing the dates and times for a month, as the FTC asked me to do...the calls eventually ceased.   Not mentioning her name here, but her name is similar to mine, and her addresses show up on my credit history. I paid the $10.00 to verify for myself there was really a person by that name on Intellus.  Finally the FTC had the complete list of phone numbers reported, with the website reporting 900 complaints about that  company.  Then the Corp HeadQuarters (hindquarters) called me complaining I reported his BBB (Bery Bad Business) to the FTC.  Why didn't I tell them I wasn't LaVanda.      So today it's March 25, 2013.....what would you guess....they are calling me again about LaVanda.  I told them I am notifying the FTC again.  They need to spend the $10 on the internet to get the right person....I AM NOT LAVANDA.    Hope no one else is having these DUNCES harassing them to this extent.

Listen people do not let these debt collectors scare you. I do a/c work and used to work in a building where these low lifes officed out of. They all are talking and joking until they get on a phone call. then they go into role play mode and act all tough. Once they get your blood pressure all up and intimidate you they usuallly get hung up on. They laugh about it and go on to the next call. These slugs have performance charts up on the wall for all to see. Its a dog eat dog job and they get moved up based on collected dollars. The person with the big office keeps it only if their efforts show the largest collection. They are slugs and skanks who will lie and do or say anything to scare you. If that does not work they try to get ahold of family members and tell them you are going to jail. My dad is dying in a nursing home and they still are hunting for him. To hell with all these pigs. You never win a conversation with them.They are not afraid of your threats to turn them in. Just let your machine screen all your calls and hang up if they happen to catch you on the phone.

Just got a call from this number and like others have mentioned said they were trying to collect an old debt of over 10,000.  I told her I had no old debt of that kind of money.  She told me it was from 2001 and I stopped paying in 2002 and fees etc it had increased to 10K.  Said she could make some settlement of 5K...ugh, NO.  I told her I wasn't going to pay and she threatened to have them go after me for 10K... I told her to go ahead.  This number is going on my blocked list.

Said same thing as most folks on here. I have had debt probs in the past but have cleaned up my OWN mess. They will say ANYTHING....telling me the Sheriff will be coming to my place of work (they never knew where I worked) or my home address (I ONLY have my address as where my mail goes and don't have my home address listed (use mailbox places only) so they have no clue where I live). They will contact my supervisor (they never knew where I worked since I was paid by different company then what is listed on my credit report on client sites) and so on. They will contact ANYONE or place you ever lived and even relatives of those people. They used to call my ex wife's parents...sneaky b*****ds

Threatin with lawsuit and lawyers and all that. Anyway, I talked to these folks every time after awhile and they all just want the money for the debt they bought. EACH AND EVERY SINGLE ONE I worked something out with. I WAS a deadbeat but started paying it all back. Don't be scared and just work with these folks. ALMOST EVERY ONE I was able to get them to deduce the debt by at least %50 and payment plans. I know what I owed and made things right but again, their tactics are by no means honest and moral. It's when they started calling my mom, who is sick and lives out of state that I finally started working with them.  Down to my school loan only on my CC report...yay me....boo alcohol....LOL

I got the call too.  They asked for some weird interpretation on my name and were very s****y and rude.

I received call from an unknown person stating I had a outstanding debt that I know was written off in 2005. the conversation turned heated fairly quickly. Long story short, I informed her that I would be turning her company's name over to my attorney and if she called my home again I would make her life a living hell. she went on to inform me that I was threatening her and I simply responded, it's not a threat, no just a simple promise and that I always keep my promises. after that brief statement she hung up. Go figure....

I spoke with someone at this number and they said that they were filing a 1099-C on me.  What they don't know is that my mother-in-law is an assistant to a tax attorney and his partner, a CPA.  My siser-in-law IS an attorney.  What they all told me what that it is fraudulent and against the law for a debt collection agency to issue a 1099-C.  It has to come STRAIGHT from the original debtor who has probably already written the debt off and the debt was bought by this scam of a company.

Ironically, the debt they bought is from a company who has since gone under and is no longer in business and is from 1989.  Yes, you read that right.  This debt is from over 20 years ago.  Nice, huh?

In the event that you are threatened with this, please do what you can to obtain legal assistance.  I have already contact the Attorney General about this and they agree that it is fraudulent.  I am filing a claim against these people and I am seriously thinking about legal action.
