This seems to be a legitimate number for a Houston Auto Body Repair Company.

BUT - the phone call I got tonight on my cell phone was a scam  - said it was from TAPCO credit union (in Pierce County Washington) and my debit card had been deactivated - to reactivate all I needed to do was type in my 16 digit card number (good thing I don't do business with TAPCO) I called TAPCO and they said they and other credit unions have been hit with this kind of phishing scheme lately.

I received the call on both of my land lines (one personal, one business) at home from 253-414-1982.  Given the similarity in the phone numbers (last two digits in the numbers are about about 40 numbers apart) and the time between calls, this appears to be an sutodialer just making calls oping to snag someone gullable enough to enter in all of their info.  Although from the area, I have never set foot in a TAPCO credit union.

I received a cal from this number on my Verizon cellphone. I ignored the phone call and let it go to my voice mail. When I checked my voice mail there was a female voice that said "security department" then clicked off.

It appears that the auto body shop down in Texas has had their phone number hijacked and that someone has acquired VZW phone numbers for a phishing scam.

I did some digging and the company down in Texas that owns the phone number is called Collision King and they have an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau. I doubt that they would sacrifice their reputation to call a WA State cell phone.

I just received a phone call from this number on my Verizon Cell.  I opted not to answer it because I was not sure where the area code was.  I BING searched the number and came to this site.  I am curious as to whether they will call back or leave a message.

Thanks for the heads up all.

Received a call on Sat 12/18/10 @ 7:44pm saying by debit card was blocked to enter 1 then requested my 16 digit card number...I hang up - if the bank is calling why ask for my number.  Contacted the bank and there was no 'blocking' on my card.  My cell is with AT&T and I am in area code 305!

Just received a "phishing" phone call from this number on my cell.  They said my debit card had been compromised and I should press "1" to be connected to the security department.  I hung up.  They didn't specify a particular bank or credit union.

We received a call indicating that the Debit Card had been suspended and that we needed to press "1" to reactivate it.  The recorded voice named a creit union with whom we do business but the credit union does not do business outside of the 505 Area Code.  We will warn our credit uniion in the morning.

Got a phone call today on my Verizon cel phone (10-19-10) from this number saying that it was "Farmington New Mexico Credit Union" and that my debt card has been suspended due to fraudulent charges. An immediate red flag hit me and I thought, man I don't bank with them. They asked to press 1 for further information, I hung up after that.
I called my bank to make sure all was well and there was no problems. Be Ware ! Don't give out ANY information to these scammers !!!!!!!!!!
The number does belong to Collision King in Houston TX. I'm not sure if they know somebody is using there number for fraud or they are part of it.
