Vince,
I received that same sales pitch and now they are on my blocked call list!
If you give them the "small" amount of $500.00, you can bet that you'll be taken for a ride! Ha!

I found the machines that block almost all robo calls & telemarketers. tried uploading link here, but it won't accept an entry with a web link. So look up 'Call Blocker' on Amazon & see the results.
One claims that:
Stop all nuisance calls, regardless of new or past numbers.
Unique "2 lines of Defence" system.
Block 100% Robo calls, 99.9% live telemarketer or solicitor calls
Works with all landline phones with regular jack. Works with VOIP like Vonage, Magic Jack.
Hope this works. If so, SUCCESS AT LAST!!!

I live in Houston. Since this spammer has a Houston #, I was going to pick it up. But answering machine did 1st & they hung up.
I have noticed more & more Houston #s doing spamming! One of them has my same area code (Houston has 3) and then the next set of 3 digits, so I thought they were a neighbor. Instead it's same of BS!
Someone once told me she had some little machine that sounded a kind of beep that robo-callers interpreted it as a non-functioning # and hung up. This little apparatus did this for every call. if caller was human, it wasn't noticeable. But the machines--either robo-callers or auto-dialers that have a human on standby until you answer--did detect the beep and disconnected.
DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT THESE MACHINES ARE CALLED & WHERE TO GET ONE?

Called and hung up. Probably trying to see if it's a live number. Will be expecting another call based on reports here - thanks!

OK, first off, these numbers you see on your phones Caller ID screen are probably SPOOFED. For those that don't know, Spoofing is making the call but altering the caller ID number and/or name. The number you see is probably not the calling number. It can be anything, even a single zero. Don't bother calling them back because the spoofed number isn't their real number. Secondly, buy a call blocker to put on in your phone line. For my unit, I can either answer the call then press a single button on the call blocker or not answer the phone and enter it manually by using the phone number pad. Either way is easy and those numbers will not be allowed to get your phone to ring after that. As a suggestion, buy a call blocker unit that has the readout display. It allows you to manually scroll through the recorded numbers and edit/delete them. Mine will also block entire area codes, too. The one I have is from a company called CPR and their unit is CALLBLOCKER. I have v.201. There are many others out there and are not overly expensive.

This company has assaultive girls on the phone line who hang up on you when you ask to be taken off the spam call list. They berate you for thinking they personally made the robocalls. I will now file an FTC complaint.

Called my DNC registered landline on 05/01/2014 11:01 AM and a minute before that from Houston, TX.
Obviously Card Services has some lines in Texas too.

Do not answer calls from this number. They are credit card scammers.d

It is an absurdity that a modern telecommunications company would allow a user a measly 12 numbers to block. A decent company, if they exist, should allow a variety of call answering rules that can be mixed and matched to get call screening, blocking and disposition at least as good as Inbox filtering in email.

Got a call from 714-713-1095 at 1:35pm PDT. Went to VM but no message. Blocked number using phone system (Panasonic).

Will the call blockers available through Amazon etc. block political calls? I'm not receiving very many right now but when elections roll around I get at least 10 a day so wondered if politicians are exempt. Thanks.
| RLM 2014-05-03 17:12:05 Unknown |
I agree with Gunnar. I have installed a Sentry call blocker marketed by Amazon.com. that will block up to 9,999 calls.
For robocalls (recorded calls), they are blocked automatically, For "real person" calls, they can be blocked immediately
after the caller hangs up. After that, if a subsequent call is received, the phone rings one time and stops.
| Gunnar 2014-05-03 15:49:17 Unknown |
Call blockers are available for home phones. Check Amazon. Several are available for well under a hundred dollars. Most with capacities of well over 1000 numbers and they will block entire area codes as well. If you have a smartphone, I can recommend "Mr. Number" & "Call Control". The first is a free app. I've been using it with good results. The second is a free app. but will require up-grading to expand its capabilities to more than a couple of numbers. It's less than $10 to up-grade & I used it for a couple of years without any complaints. I hope this may help.
Live Well.

The thing with these scammers/crooks is that they keep changing their phone number. I blocked unidentified numbers through my Caller ID but they now put a "O" or something else as the name so the call comes through. My call block with Comcast only allows 12 numbers to be blocked and I get way more than 12 spam calls. I never answer these calls but I still have to find the handset to look at who is calling which is annoying.

Scum sucking telemarketers/scammers!

Message upon answering the phone is "FINAL NOTICE BEFORE COMPLETING THEIR ANNUAL CREDIT CARD REVIEW OF OUR ACCOUNT", they state "ALREADY MAILED NUMEROUS NOTICES, THIS IS FINAL ATTEMPT TO CONTACT YOU". We have no credit card with a balance, so I was curious to see "who was calling", I let the call go through and a woman first identified herself as "Member Services, are you calling to lower your interest rates?", I asked "what financial group are you with? .... she hung up immediately. I tried calling back the number, got the same message once connected, but when I try to connect with a person, they now have my phone number blocked and the "CALL WON'T GO THROUGH, PLEASE TRY AGAIN LATER". Anyone who is contacted by these scammers... PLEASE file a complaint with your State's Attorney General! We need to get some consumer protection out there against this kind of thing, and the phone companies are allowing too easy of a road for these people to do business. Don't just ignore it, let's get some regulations out there that can put a stop to this kind of SCAMS and protect the people who can't protect themselves! Thanks

Just had this call. Almost couldn't hear them. Something about my credit, 6% low interest rate. Never pay interest on any
credit card; pay them off each month. Have family in Houston (713) so I answered the phone. Wish I had not!
Someone needs to at least try to stop this mess.

CID = Houston TX 1 (713) 714-1095
Card Services criminal scammers from a new number (new to me) - offered to reduce my credit card interest rate to 6+ percent if I owed at least $3000 across all my credit cards and had at least one card that was still good. I have now blocked this number with CallClerk software and a cheap USB modem.

4/30 15:31 PDT I almost never answer the phone these days unless there is a recognized ID. In this case, there wasn't and though it went to voicemail, whoever this was hung up after transition to voicemail. It's too sad that we have to be so suspicious of every call. Interesting that reports of this number just started 4 or 5 days ago.

They called and said I won a free cruise on the new Disney Ship " Goofy ". Had to pay a small refundable fee of $500.00. Just had to take a short survey and give them my credit card, SS#, Life info and they would have someone call me about my free cruise the Indian lady from Houston Texas said. How lucky can you be? Disney is building this ship in secret the Lady said. I will be the first to be taken for a ride on her. I bet the CIA does not even know?

Got a call from this number and I DO NOT ANSWER my phone anymore if I don't recognize the number or name. I have credit cards but I pay them off each month so the interest rate is not a problem for me as they never get any interest off me. I have also turned off my answering machine so these a**holes cannot leave a message and I would not call them back anyway. I am on the DO NOT CALL list and it's a big joke.
