Someone called me from this number please don't harass me.

This is not a fraud or scam. I got a blank voicemail from this number while out of range. Looked here and saw all the comments about 911. I looked at my call log and there was indeed a 911 call made from my phone. It was in my pocket while walking through the downtown tunnels. I must have pocket dialed 911, it happens. Don't listen to those insisting this is not legit because it is.

This number is actually a 911 number for the city if Houston. It is for them to be able to call out but not for you to call in on. I witnessed an accident this morning and when the call dropped this was the number they called me back on.

This is a houston police number, I call the other day, I hung up and they return the call from that number

This number is usually from HPD.  I had dialed 911 because my place was broken into. I called approx at 10am and rec'd a call around 3pm from what seemed like a dispatcher following up statinf "we haven't forgotten about you."

I waited up until 4:30pm when someone finally showed up.  That dispatcher who had called from that # said there was a higher-priority incident that happened earlier.

THIS IS SOME SORT OF PRANK OR SCAM. MY PHONE WAS LOCKED AND IN MY POCKET WHEN THIS NUMBER (713) 884-3997 CALLED AND SAID 911 CALL CENTER DO YOU HAVE AN EMERGENCY? NO I SAID AND I DID NOT CALL. I SAID OBVIOUSLY ITS A PRANK OR FRAUD. I TOLD HER TO TELL HER SUPERIORS AND SHE ASKED ME IF I WANTED TO CREATE A REPORT. IT WAS A FEMALES VOICE. BEWARE PEOPLE SOMETHING IS UP WITH THIS AND IT IS NOT RIGHT. I SUGGEST ANYONE GETTING CALLED FROM THEM LIKE I DID TO CALL YOUR POLICE DEPARTMENT AND REPORT IT AS I WILL NOW.

My Zomm Wireless Leash Plus called this number automatically when I held down the button too long.   I hung up and got a call from that number.  I didn't answer, then tried that number and got the "not a working number" recording.  This doesn't appear to be malicious.

Its generally the Capt. of the emergency response team making sure help has arrived. Its a quality assurance call routed from a scrambler so you don't get his private number

I received a call midafternoon from this number 713-884-3997. a guy was asking me if I needed help  because someone with my cell # had called his company which he claimed he was from the alarm company. so I told him that I had my cell with me the whole time and I didn't call him. he said ok and than hang up before I had a chance further asking him any question. when I called back, it says the 713-884-3997 is not a working number. i think someone is doing something fishy.

Received a call from this number today approx 645pm. Didn't answer n when I tried to call back said its not a working number..  I tried tracing call only says its an at&t cell number.

received call today at 11:45.  didn't answer and the phone didn't ring.  whoever is doing this the number should be permanently cancelled.

Called at 5:38 AM!  Said it was HPD and asked for "Michael".   I assumed it was a debt collector with the wrong number.

lady called me from this and said that I made a 911 call, asked me if there was an emergency. i didn't and there wasn't. i speculated that i somehow bumped the phone for an emergency number and apologized. later thumbed through my call logs and didn't find anything. strange.

When I called back it didn't work.

received call on cell at 4:18pm, Feb. 8th. My cell was locked and put up. No accidental call made on my end. Is the HPD 'creating' a job for someone, by having them call all kinds of random numbers?  What a waste of our tax money!  I SUGGEST anyone getting calls from this number, contact the MAYOR'S office and complain that she is WASTING our tax money. Then the Mayor wants to 'BORROW' money FROM the Houston Fire Fighter retirement fund (that has nothing to do with the city), all the while stabbing them in the back with all kinds of bad publicity against the Houston Fire Department.  ...yep- on my soap box..

Yeah, got this call too but also not a working number. Only reason I called it cause someone broke into my company truck today in a restauraunt parking lot and stole my laptop. In the computer case were my business cards with my cell number...thought it might be connected.

Yes, it called me back after I called 911 and the my cell phone dropped the call. It's HPD.

I got a call from this no. last night a few times (Aug 9, 2010) but I didn't answer as it was late at night and I was not sure who was calling. I then called 911 myself to report it. The 911 operator said someone had called from my location requesting assistance but noone called from my house. It is strange. When I called back on the no. later on that was displayed on the caller id, it was a non-working number

Just saw this on my cell phone as a missed call at 9:03pm. Caller ID is blank, except for the number. My phone was locked and in my purse, so I know it didn't dial out. I even double-checked my call logs. There was no voice mail message left either. I did a web search on it, because it is too late to call back now... I did call the HPD non-emergency number this evening, but not 911.

Just got a call from this number but didn't answer. I"m sitting in my office in Houston, no accident here.

This is a legit number from HPD dispatch for 911 calls.  I calledd 911 tonight at the sceen of an accident on 610, was disconnected, and they called back registering this number....  in about 10 seconds.

This number is for Houston Police Department Dispatch.  The reason it doesn't work when you call back because it is an internal number.  When I called HPD they said when a dispatcher returns an (accidental) emergency call and there is no answer, they disregard the emergency call.

We have been getting this call at my parents house, and it ended up being a fraud to steal money through illegit billing.  We still get this call some afternoons, and again at 2:30 in the morning.  Sometimes it says it is a collect call from someone in a county jail.  We dont know anyone in South TX (Houston).

It's some kind of 911 emergency number, when it called me on my cell, it was reported as a non-working number, then it called me and it was 911 emergency.

Call from fake 911 operator asking what our emergency was and wanted specific personal information.

I just got the call while at work today at about 230pm. i didn't answer because i have had people stalking me. apparently our emergency response crew are failures

just got a call from this # at 10:48 pm saying i called. i had just got off work and was eating dinner at home by myself when my phone wrg. i asked her was she playing with me she said know and ask if 76574349826 was my # i said NO, cus she was of by the last #. WTF is going on 911 is calling back the wrg person. OMG!
