Jeremy and the DEBT COLLECTION AGENCY are a fraud and now are called ACP & Associates and Jeremy Clarkston supposedly out of Houston, Texas, called from 832-850-2009 and 832-266-0569.  

I received not only one but three calls regarding this matter of a suit being filed at my local bank for a returned item. All of these calls went to voice mail. The first number (713) 893-4340 went to a man that is an Arabic bean distributor, the second (855) 459-6632 went to a retirement community and the third (855) 640-3317 was not set up to receive incoming calls. So i wasnt even able to speak with anyone to tell them they are full of crap. I havent used a check in 8 years and have no unpaid debts. The last number was the only one that addressed me by name and even gave a file number to reference but there was no company name or representative name/ number given. These calls were all past 5pm and one even as late as 10:45pm. This is truly a scam!

I received the same message. Sounded strange to me too.

I got a call from them today too... the message was hard to understand and when I called back I got a recording that stated they were a company called ACT and that I needed to leave my name and number and someone would call me back.

got a message on my cell phone stating to the same effect as everyone else.  my local bank which are like 4 banks where I live.  I am not going to waste my time and minutes with these people.  They can mail me all the letters etc they need too.

We received a message from this number.  Leaving a very veague message of some sort of legal issue that they are going to serve me and go forward with legal proceedings.  I called the number and left a message stating that if this was a true company and not a scam then they need to submit this in writing and to stop all contact other than through wrighting.  As if I would fall for this in this day and age of way too much scams.

Saying that an item was returned to my "Local Bank" and if I choose not to respond to their message they will pursue legal action. Lies!!!! Neither of my two checking accounts have any returned anything. I checked, not deliquent on any bills! Call comes in as 855-652-2166 but I am asked to call 713-893-4340, where a lady answers saying  Ms. Levine. I let her know in no uncertain terms to not call asking for me to call her and to go right ahead with her legal Proceedings! She denied calling and hung up on me. Same voice on voicemail as the one answering the phone!!!! They don'r say a company name either!

I get a call from 855-251-8492 saying to call 713-893-4340 about a legal matter.  So, I call and am asked if I was served papers yet? Then she goes through this whole routine about are you going to be at home at 2 pm and when would be a good time to serve the papers.

These people are idiots.  First of all you are calling me form Texas and I live in Delaware, no states are in the habit of using an outside agency (that didn't identify them selves by the way) get info for to serving papers. Second most counties are not in the habit of calling you to let you know that papers are being served. Third this is like the 5th call in a 2 week period with a 24 hour deadline on serving the papers... SERVE THEM ALREADY!!!

This is a huge scam.  Please don't let these idiots take your money.  The will try to scare you into doing so.

Oh, I almost forgot.  They have local people working with them.  I get a call from my local court house with a message that papers are be served to me.  So call the court house and speak with the person in charge of all pending cases. She informs me that there is nothing there with my name on it and that they DO NOT call people who are being served.  Also the number they called from was the general number which would show up from using a lobby phone or a pay phone in the court house.

Within a few minutes this number 713-893-4340 calls saying I still have a chance to resolve this.  So I informed him that I called the court house and talked to them about the so called summons and it didn't exist.

SCAM SCAM SCAM!!!  I don't know how they got my info, but this is really crazy.

Ladies and gentlemen - if you are going to be sued, you are going to be served.  The phone call means s***.  If you ignore the calls, block them or send them straight to voice mail and never respond you will be fine.  Don't engage them.

Me too. I just called and they tried to get me to verify ss number and I called them scammers because I had this screend pulled up while I was talking to him

I got the same message as Connie, I did find this when goggling CMCE, Inc.  I feel if a Debt Collector has to go to this extreme then they probably are not trustworthy regardless if debt is actually owe.

This corporate entity was filed approximately seven years ago on Wednesday, June 14, 2006 according to public records filed with Texas Secretary of State. There are no known officers associated with Cmce, Inc..

I got the same message as Connie.  That's when I googled the number and found this website!!

I have received several calls that show up under my caller ID as coming from TX. The number identified is 713-568-4554 yet they tell you to call the number above.

Today they left a message. Couldn't catch a few of the words, but this is how it went....

"This is a very important message that serves as an initial notice of legal proceedings in response to a _______ at your local bank. Our firm would like to speak to you in regards to this matter. Contact us immediately at 713-893-4340. If you choose not to respond to this message, it will be deemed ________ and proceedings will commence."

Mighty suspicious. They didn't identify the "firm" name. They didn't identify who they were trying to contact. They didn't identify the name of the "local" bank....

I'm in agreement that this is probably a scam. I have no intention of responding.

They called my wife, my wife let it go to voice mail, they gave her NO information regarding anything in the message other than being served papers and to call them back it this number. I called the number and they asked for the number they called. After i gave them the number came to find out they had the wrong number.

I received one from a Carrie Johnson as well. Totally BS call. The fact that the caller ID was blocked is a red flag that this is a scam call.

I'm not very certain at this point whether the information I have been able to obtain is accurate. I will dig a little deeper when it isn't so late in the day. I have managed to locate three separate telephone numbers for CMCE & Associates, of course I too received a phone call from "Unavailable" which I normally answer, only I thought it was a friend who's work number comes up as such... useless information really, sorry.

The number I was given to call back was (713) 893-4340, which I did call and spoke to some guy claiming to be a Paralegal, right completely against the law to practice without a supervising attorney in most states. I found there were two other numbers that were associated with the co. in previous reports (855) 306-8527 and (855) 578-6516 but again, not sure of the accuracy at this point.

Anyhow, I found a file number with the TX Secretary of State office, File Number 0801356212. Again, I'm uncertain if this is the correct information at this point, however this is what I've found so far.

I have been receiving these calls from many "attorneys" and today (7/16/13) AND I got a call from "Samantha Carl" who claimed to be a Courier with a Fax order for Legal Papers. She left the number 713-893-4340 which goes to the same Company, CMCE & Associates located in Houston, TX.

When I called that number, I received "Jeremy" and he got irrate with me and threatened to send my account for this Payday Loan (which I paid off) from 2007 when I was in the Army to India where they have no laws. He hung up afterwards.

Caller left message saying "This is Carrie Johnson.  I have papers to serve you on Wednesday, July 17th in the evening.  If you have questions regarding this please call 713-893-4340."  I don't plan to waste my time.

yes I received a call on july 2, 2013, from some woman named Kimberly, she said IT was a civil service claim against me, for a loan I had in 2007, and that I needed to call her back today, because they were serving me papers on tomorrow, well the problem with that is in 2007 I was in high school about to graduate, and besides that I know I never took out a loan, they said they had all this info, well if they did why did they call for me on my sister's cellphone we do not live together and she only had her number since 2011, if they knew so much about me they would have one of my 2 cellphone numbers that are in my name. these people want you to run scared an say ok what do I have to do to stop this,, of course they want money, and yes the papers will be stopped,, because they never existed,, one thing I know about loans a loan company won't wait 6 yrs to come after you, believe that. they may get a few scared people but i'm not one, they will have to prove it to me,, SHOW ME THE PAPERS

That's not how it works here liar.  I've been served real papers and they simply call you to politely tell you they are coming by (or just show up at your door), courteously give you the papers (if you answer the door - I was not there for one occasion) and go, that's that.  There is no "resolve to avoid being served" - by the time you're being served it is too late to avoid it, though you can still resolve it before the court date (and I did.)

Don't be a lame scammer - if you had any real business with me you would not using vaguely intimidating lies.
