I have copied your perfect answer and will use it for all my telemarketer calls. "you are a telemarketer, and I don't do business with any company that uses telemarketing as a form of advertising"
I have been telling them I don't do business by phone and so they offer to mail it, not getting my point. Your quote is perfect and I am stealing it. Thank you.

Said we were "pre-approved for a reduced rate through Reliant Energy" (the full-priced electric provider in the area). I said we are not even going to discuss this, as 1) you are a telemarketer, and I don't do business with any company that uses telemarketing as a form of advertising, and 2) we use the only company that supplies our area with 100% wind power, which is the only kind of company I am going to support. Went to my Google Voice account and blocked their number.

Caller said he was AT&T and wanted to tell me about their U-verse digital tv.

I have been receiving calls from this number that caller id says is Reliant Energy. I'm half the continent away from the 713 area code so I don't think this is anything legitimate. They have been calling every day for a week at various times.
These calls started shortly after I received a number of calls with a recorded message from the pay phones at the Harris County Jail which is in the same area code (713). I think they may be spoofed from there possibly. The idea is they try to get you to hit *72 on your phone to enable call forwarding for them and they can call anyone they want on your dime. I actually got an AT&T bill for some of these calls and there wasn't anyone home in my house when they occurred...just the voice mail. with a short generic message on it. I can't figure that out..they're more savvy than me. I had the charges removed from my phone bill by AT&T as they had done the billing for a third party biller; Global Tel*Link Corp. which does exist and deals with enabling prisoners to call to the outside at outrageous rates. I have had the ability of my phone to accept collect calls disabled and filed a formal written complaint to my local police dept to protect me in case of any more of these charges

Caller ID says Reliant Energy. I didn't bother to answer since I have no dealings with Reliant Energy.
