Well this number is the number that comes up on caller id when my son is calling me from jail in Merced County. It's not a scam or a telemarketer. It's the correctional facility in Merced County and they use this service which charges a HUGE amount and gives the facility a kickback. Most people know who is calling cuz someone they know has been arrested. I imagine every now and again people mistakenly call wrong number. There is a minimum deposit of $25. The calls are announced as collect at first. There is a $7.00 process fee deducted right away from the $25 and each call after is approximately $6.
