GMC Debt Collection.  I called the number today as they'd been calling, NOT looking for us but for several different people, over the past 2 years (about every 4 months they look for someone new).  I explained that there was no one here by ANY of those names and, since we'd had this same phone number for over 16 years, they were obviously dialing the wrong number to begin with.  

I'd never dared call previously as I was afraid that would embroil me into some scam just by calling back (as some phone scams work that way).  The women at GMC was surprisingly polite, explained it was an automated system, and assured me that she would take the number out of the system.  

Let's hope.

Caller ID says "Houston, TX 713-965-6027"

Other sites say this is a debt collection company.  I'm not behind on anything (no mortgage, no car loan,  and low balance on one card) so possibly a wrong number.

This creditor has called me from 5 different local numbers.They just don't quit.
